Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time

KNOW Jesus, KNOW peace. NO Jesus, NO peace. All believers are challenged to practice authen-tic discipleship. This means we are to live in peace and harmony by putting our trust in the Holy Trinity. Our Lord’s saving grace will allow us to be in the world but not of it. Letting go of our selfish-ness and holding on to our crosses gives God the opportunity to show his sovereign power in our lives. He restores us, comforts us, guides us and protects us in all of our trials. We will receive peace when we keep walking by faith and not by sight.

As Mark 8:36-38 reminds us, “It will profit us nothing if we gain the whole world but lose our soul.” When we spend our earthly life in denial of Jesus Christ, it results in our destruction. When we live in loyalty to Christ, in spite of death to our selfish desires, we will ex-perience the ultimate union with Christ. Our fullness of life in Christ

is reached when we go home to the Lord. Today we are reminded that regardless of where we are and what we’re experiencing in our lives, God is asking us to cou-rageously trust his sovereignty and power over every one of our struggles. God’s ability to correct injustices in our lives is outlined in Ezekiel 17:22-24 with the analogy of “bringing low the high tree and bringing high the lowly tree” so that his will AND peace are re-stored.

Although the threat of division is present within the body of Christ, God desires us to trust in his providence and share our faith with others so that we unify with them instead of exclude them. Re-moving pride, jealousy and re-sentment from our relationships will help us experience unity.

Father’s Day helps us consider where we stand in our faith walk. Because we are human, we’ve made mistakes. Both parents and children have hurt our loved ones and caused unresolved is-sues. Sometimes no matter how

much we’ve prayed for our par-ents or our children, due to free will, they may choose to move in directions that are hard to accept or understand. But the good news is that God gives us the grace to endure and embrace his will for our lives. Following his will allows us to move beyond mistakes that parents and/or children have made. God doesn’t want us to continually feel guilty or to place blame on each other. Instead, he invites us to continue to love, to encourage and to pray for these relationships.

The Gospel invites us to grow in faith by not getting stuck in past habits or mistakes. Instead of blaming fathers, mothers and chil-dren for hurt and pain we may feel, God is waiting for us to ask for help. His assistance will help us extend forgiveness and love to those who need it. Accept respon-sibility for your own past choices and pray for the grace to make future choices that please the Lord. Do your best and leave the rest in the Lord’s capable hands.

Faith Formation Coordinator The Office of Faith Formation is seeking a PART-TIME BILINGUAL (ENGLISH/SPANISH) FAITH FORMA-TION COORDINATOR. This individual is responsible for Faith Formation programs for Spanish speaking children in Grades 1-8, includes the RCIA Adapted for Children, preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion. The applicant should be able to work collaboratively with others, especially with the Director of Faith Formation and her designated representatives in order to insure unity in all programs. Administration experience, computer literacy, oral and written English/Spanish skills, and ability to communicate effectively with adult catechists and parents are required. The Life Center of Santa Ana works with pregnant mothers facing difficult choices during and after their pregnancies. Life Center of Santa Ana pro-vides clothing for babies, children, and new mothers. It also provides blan-kets, baby bottles, diapers, car seats, etc. The Life Center has also devel-oped a Crib Assistance Program for high-risk newborns discharged from

UCI Medical Center and Orange County hospitals. After discharge these infants usually do not have a bed to sleep, and many require monitoring equipment which mandates a bed of their own. Bus Trip to Pauma Casino The Guadalupe Club will be hosting a bus trip to Pauma Casino on Saturday July 14, 2018. Cost of a fun trip is only $20.00 per person. You must be 21+ years of age to attend. CONOCE Jesús, CONOCE la paz. NO Jesús, NO hay paz. Todos los creyentes tienen el desafío de practicar un discipulado auténtico. Esto significa que debemos vivir en paz y armonía al poner nuestra confianza en la Santísima Trinidad. La gracia salvadora de nuestro Señor nos permitirá estar en el mundo pero no de él. Soltar nuestro egoísmo y aferrarnos a nuestras cruces le da a Dios la oportunidad de mostrar su poder soberano en nuestras vidas. Él nos restaura, nos consuela, nos guía y nos protege en todas nuestras pruebas. Recibiremos la paz cuando sigamos caminando por fe y no por vista.

Como Marcos 8: 36-38 nos re-cuerda, "No nos beneficiará nada si ganamos todo el mundo, pero perdemos nuestra alma". Cuando gastamos nuestra vida terrenal en la negación de Jesucristo, resulta en nuestra destrucción. Cuando vivimos en lealtad a Cristo, a pesar de la muerte de nuestros deseos egoístas, experimentaremos la

unión definitiva con Cristo. Nuestra plenitud de vida en Cristo se al-canza cuando volvemos a casa con el Señor. Aunque la amenaza de división está presente en el cuerpo de Cristo, Dios desea que confiemos en su providencia y compartamos nuestra fe con los demás para que nos unamos con ellos en lugar de excluirlos. Eliminar el orgullo, los celos y el resentimiento de nues-tras relaciones nos ayudará a ex-perimentar la unidad.

El Día del Padre nos ayuda a con-siderar dónde nos encontramos en nuestra caminata de fe. Porque somos humanos, hemos cometido errores. Tanto los padres como los hijos han lastimado a nuestros seres queridos y han causado problemas sin resolver. A veces,

sin importar cuánto hemos orado por nuestros padres o nuestros hi-jos, debido al libre albedrío, pueden optar por moverse en di-recciones que son difíciles de aceptar o comprender. Pero la buena noticia es que Dios nos da la gracia de soportar y aceptar su voluntad para nuestras vidas. Se-guir su voluntad nos permite ir más allá de los errores que los padres y / o niños han cometido. Dios no quiere que continuamente nos sin-tamos culpables ni que nos echemos la culpa el uno al otro. En cambio, él nos invita a continuar amando, alentando y orando por estas relaciones.

El Evangelio nos invita a crecer en la fe al no quedar atrapados en hábitos o errores del pasado. En lugar de culpar a padres, madres y niños por dolor y dolor, podemos sentir que Dios está esperando que pidamos ayuda. Su ayuda nos ayu-dará a extender el perdón y el amor a aquellos que lo necesitan. Acepte la responsabilidad de sus propias elecciones pasadas y ore por la gracia de tomar decisiones futuras que agraden al Señor. Haz tu mejor esfuerzo y deja el resto en las manos

Điều này có nghĩa là chúng ta phải sống trong bình an và hòa nhịp bằng cách đặt niềm tin của chúng ta vào Thiên Chúa Ba Ngôi. Ân sủng cứu độ của Thiên Chúa sẽ cho chúng ta sống trong thế gian, nhưng không thuộc về thế gian. Từ bỏ sự ích kỷ của ta và mang lấy thánh giá để Chúa có cơ hội tỏ cho ta quyền lực của Ngài trong cuộc sống. Thiên Chúa tái lập, an ủi, hướng dẫn và che chở chúng ta qua những thử thách. Chúng ta sẽ nhận được sự bình an khi chúng ta tiếp tục bước đi trong đức tin chứ không phải trong điều ta thấy được.

Thánh Marcô trong đoạn 8:36-38 nhắc nhở chúng ta: “Chẳng có lợi gì cho chúng ta nếu được lợi cả và thế gian mà mất linh hồn.” Khi chúng ta sống đời trần gian trong sự từ chối Đức Giêsu Kitô, kết quả là sự hủy hoại của ta. Khi chúng ta sống trong trung thành với Chúa Kitô, cho dù có phải chết đối

với ước muốn ích kỷ, chúng ta sẽ cảm nghiệm sự liên kết tuyệt hảo với Đức Kitô. Sự trọn vẹn của cuộc sống trong Chúa Kitô sẽ đạt tới khi chúng ta trở về nhà Thiên Chúa. Hôm nay chúng ta được nhắc nhở rằng cho dù chúng ta ở đâu hay kinh nghiệm gì trong cuộc sống, Thiên Chúa kêu gọi chúng ta hãy can đảm tin vào vương quốc và quyền năng của Ngài trên những thử thách của ta. Khả năng sửa sai những bất công của Thiên Chúa trong đời ta được hoạch định trong sách Ezêkiel đoạn 17:22-14 tương tự như việc “hạ xuống cây cao ngạo và nâng lên cây khiêm nhường” để rồi ý muốn VÀ bình an của Thiên Chúa được thiết lập lại.

Cho dù có sự đe dọa của chia rẽ trong thân thể Chúa Kitô, Thiên Chúa muốn chúng ta tin tưởng vào sự quan phòng của Ngài và chia sẻ niềm tin của ta với người khác để liên kết với họ thay vì tách rời họ. Bỏ đi sự kiêu căng, ghen tương và cưỡng chống ra khỏi sự liên đới sẽ chúng ta liên kết.

Ngày Hiền Phụ giúp chúng ta nghĩ lại chúng ta đang đứng ở đâu trong hành trình đức tin. Vì chúng ta là con người, chúng ta có những lỗi lầm. Kể cả cha mẹ và con cái đều xúc phạm đến nhau và tạo nên những vấn đề không giải

quyết được. Đôi khi, cho dù có cầu nguyện nhiều bao nhiêu cho cha mẹ con cái, chỉ vì sự tự do, họ có thể chọn theo chiều hướng khó có thể chấp nhận và hiểu được. Nhưng tin vui đó là Thiên Chúa ban cho chúng ta ơn thánh để chịu đựng và chấp nhận ý Chúa trong cuộc sống của ta. Chấp nhận ý Chúa giúp chúng ta vượt qua được những sai lầm của cha mẹ/hay con cái đã làm. Thiên Chúa không muốn chúng ta tiếp tục mang mặc cảm tội lỗi hay đổ lỗi cho người khác. Thay vào đó, Ngài mời gọi chúng ta tiếp tục yêu thương, can đảm và cầu nguyện cho những liên hệ này.

Bài Phúc Âm mời gọi chúng ta lớn lên trong đức tin bằng cách đừng bị kẹt vào những thói quen hay lỗi lầm quá khứ. Thay vì đổ lỗi cho cha, mẹ, và con cái về những nỗi đau và khổ sở ta đang chịu, Thiên Chúa chờ đợi chúng ta xin Ngài giúp đỡ. Sự giúp đỡ của Ngài sẽ giúp ta trao ban sự tha thứ và thương yêu những ai cần đến nó. Hãy chấp nhận trách nhiệm đối với những chọn lựa của mình trong quá khứ và cầu xin ơn Chúa để làm những quyết định trong tương lai vừa lòng Thiên Chúa. Hãy cố gắng làm hết sức mình và hãy để mọi sự còn lại trong bàn tay quyền năng của Thiên Chúa.

SINH HOẠT CỘNG ĐOÀN Xin anh chị em ghi danh vào cộng đoàn, và xử dụng phong thư giáo xứ gửi về để bỏ tiền nhà thờ, đóng góp Quĩ Mục Vụ - PSA, Quĩ Đức Mẹ La Vang, quĩ xây dựng-bảo trì giáo xứ, v.v.. Là giáo dân của cộng đoàn, các linh mục có bổn phận phục vụ khi gia đình có kẻ liệt, có quyền ghi danh ưu tiên cho con cái trong các chương trình giáo lý, tiếng Việt, cử hành các Bí Tích Hôn Phối, Rửa Tội, hay tang lễ thuận tiện. Xin đề nghị đóng góp $10.00 hay hơn nữa cho mỗi gia đình khi bỏ tiền nhà thờ. Xin xử dụng phong thư vì cuối năm nhà xứ sẽ gửi giấy khai thuế cho tất cả những đóng góp trên. Quĩ Mục Vụ mỗi năm một lần đóng góp cho Đức Giám Mục, xin anh chị em rộng tay. Quĩ Xây Dựng và Bảo Trì cho Giáo Xứ để chi trả những sinh hoạt cho nhân viên và xin anh chị em giúp đỡ. Quĩ La Vang để linh đài Đức Mẹ La Vang sớm hoàn thành tại nhà thờ chính tòa, xin anh chị em yêu mến Đức Mẹ. Để có tên tại linh đài và được cầu nguyện, Địa Phận xin đóng góp từ 3 ngàn trở lên. Xin anh chị em tham dự Thánh Lễ đúng giờ và ở lại sau khi ban phép lành và hát bài ca kết lễ với chủ tế. Xin anh chị em hãy thực hiện giới răn thứ Nhất, “yêu Chúa hết lòng, hết trí khôn, và hết linh hồn.” Chúc mừng Ngày Hiền Phụ đến quí ông quí anh. Cầu chúc hôn nhân hạnh phúc và gia đình đầm ấm yên vui bên con cháu. Xin theo dõi tờ thông tin giáo xứ để ghi danh con em Vui Học Kinh Thánh Mùa Hè vào tháng Sáu. Đây là dịp tạo điều kiện học hỏi thêm cho con cái trong mùa hè. Xin anh chị em khi dùng bữa tại nhà hàng Hoa Cau gần nhà thờ vui lòng nói anh chị em là giáo dân GX Westminster để nhà hàng ghi sổ chia lợi nhuận với cộng đoàn.

Xin anh chị em đến tiệm Mai Nga-Nail Salon trong khu Stater Brother góc đường Newland/Westminster khi cần việc làm, hay cần những dịch vụ tóc và tay chân.
