WHAT WILL I LEARN?

Our primary aim is for all participants togain the confidence and skills to develop their own personal visual facilitation style.

Each person has their own strengths and experience, which the course will build on. We provide a range of materials to experiment with, and by working through a series of proven exercises we ensure participants are able to practice in a comfortable environment and master new skills in a short time.

DAY 1: Scarlet Scribes - Essential Visual Facilitation Skills (1)

l Beginning with a brief theory overview of why visual communication is so effective.

l Next, moving on to structured exercises focussing on the scribing ‘basics’ including: shapes, fonts, colours, frames, people, layout and text styles.

l Participants are able to work at individual stations, at their own speed and pace, to build confidence as they become more familiar with the materials and techniques.

l By the end of day 1 you will have learnt the basic components of scribing.

DAY 2: Scarlet Scribes - Essential Visual Facilitation Skills (2)

l We then move towards creating pictures with more complexity and sophistication, and learn the basics of perspective, visual hierarchy and accessibility.

l To embed the learning participants will complete exercises focussing on deep listening and making meaning from more complex information.

l This will provide the opportunity for practice of all the skills learnt over the two days.

We experiment with paper formats, shapes, sizes, colours and materials. Each participant receives a reference toolkit booklet complete with a marker pen set

to continue practising after the course!

“Fran captivates audiences with her graphic skills, energetic manner, diverse learning

methods and enduring patience. She ran an excellent graphic facilitation training session for our staff

and all were effusive in their praise of the value of the workshop.”

“Fran works in an inclusive andcollaborative way and her graphic and strategic illustration skills add an extra

dimension to all forms of meeting and events.”

“Inspired by the possibilities! I’ll find many ways to use what I have learned... coaching, teaching and meetings will never

be the same again.”

“I’ll often spend time thinking about topics, before Fran’s workshop I

hadn’t got a good way to encapsulate these things easily onto paper to share with others

or create some larger conversation. Now I have!”
