fixing of floor and weather-proof tiles in the classroom, plumbing & electrical work, promoting kitchen garden, clean kitchen construction, shadow tree planting and fruit bearing trees, creative arts painting and drawing pictures in the school are some of the major EDRN activities . Besides working on villages, we share a lot of things. It was the best intercultural learning expe-rience for all of us. First day, was welcome din-ner ,we Indian volunteers along with Koreans had Indian traditional food. Next day was team build-ing games, we played Ko-rean games. And every day Koreans taught us their tra-ditional dance, music or something about their tradi-tions hence, we did know a

lot about their culture.

And one day we had tradi-tional Korean food, that day only we realized how tasty our food is!!Koreans are really so kind and be-fore I went to camp, I didn’t have any opinion about Koreans but everyday our bonding grew and we be-

came good friends.

We also had INKO work-shop and INKO forum which were part of Inter-culture learning which were part of the special programs facili-tated during Happy Move Camp. All Korean and Indi-an volunteers, on the last day of the camp performed cultural program in their project site allowing the local community and school children learn about Korean culture. Each team prepared their own schedule and per-formed more than five events at the project they worked. School children also performed inhonor of Kore-

an volunteers.

And finally on HMI every team performed in farewell. And on the next day we all

Hi, friends! I am really hap-py to share my experience in happy move camp. We eleven members from saveetha attended this camp. And I can say that we had the best time of our

lives.

Hyundai has been imple-menting its CSR projects, and this the version for 2014 is titled 12th Happy Move Global Youth Volun-teers and Model Village Program in Tamil Nadu.It was hosted by FSL India. The main intention of the program is to serve the communities of Sriperum-budur and Kanchipuram districts. It is also a part of corporate social responsibil-ity of Hyundai Motor Com-

pany (HMC) Korea.

Under the ―Happy Move Global Youth Volunteerism‖ around 128 Korean volun-teers, 30 Indian University Students, 4 BWO staffs from Korea and 5 FSL-India staff participated in this camp. We were there for 12 beautiful days from 16th January to 27th January. In this camp we covered 5 villages for Education and Renovation Activities (EDRN), they were Thirumangalam, Echoor, Kunnam, Ay-yamacheri and Melotti-

vakam.

The program was started with Indian traditional inau-guration and welcome by Indian Volunteers. After the formal inauguration there will be a team facilitated orientation for the volun-teers about the camp and we perform team building exercise at Pleasant Days. Then volunteers started to work on renovation and education activities in their

respective villages.

School toilet renovation by providing all the facilities, complete the school building work, construction of stage,

went to airport to send off Koreans. We all know, say-ing goodbye is never easy, so much of memories, and everyone cried and it was very hard to believe that it was over. We all want to hang around even after a farewell goodbye. And we are sure that Goodbyes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end, and they simply mean we will miss them until

we meet again!!

you’re a guru, don’t be afraid to call yourself one.‖

Another platitude that simply doesn’t hold up to social media science is that ―quality matters more than quantity.‖ In reality, it’s always better to have 1,000 average Linkedin connections than 10 suppos-edly stellar connections, because exposure is criti-cally important in the social era. Ideas spread and rep-licate across the web much like infectious diseases jump from host to host in a com-munity. The factor that de-termines whether a disease becomes an epidemic is applicable to the spread of social media memes as well: population size mat-ters. ―Get as many normal people connected to you on Linkedin as possible,‖ en-couraged Mr.Ramaswamy. ―One in 10,000 might be in the right place at the right time.‖

But how exactly do you go about increasing your Linkedin connected to?

Mr.Ramaswamy referenced his own research and longstanding behavioral-science findings to identify some ways to improve your Linkedin appeal and influ-ence:

Make sure your Linkedin profile includes a photo and summary. Linkedin us-ers with both of these ele-ments have far more con-nections than those who don’t.

Don’t talk about yourself too much. As self-references increase, the number of connections decreases.

Be positive. Research shows that negative and critical posts leads to fewer con-nections.

Don’t post too many links. Overwhelming your connec-tions with a constant bar-rage of links (even to your own content) will result in fewer clicks.

This year on the month of march, The Department of computer science hosted a daylong workshop for lever-aging social profile for career advancement. In the work-shop students were introduced to strategies and tactics as well as those with direct over-sight of social media efforts at colleges and universities. Participants learned how to apply both art and science in leveraging social media users’ behavior to provide them with value while meeting institu-tional goals.

The speaker

Mr.Ramaswamy argued that it’s time to move beyond what he called the ―unicorns and rainbows‖ phase of social media marketing—the nas-cent days in which much em-phasis was placed on some-what nebulous values like ― e n g a g e m e n t ‖ a n d ―relationship-building.‖

Consider posting your more valuable content during the weekend, when the web is quieter and your content has a greater chance to be heard.

Make calls to action. Don’t be afraid to ask your con-nections to re-post your content. Research shows that people like to be asked to take concrete actions, and that they will respond in greater numbers when asked directly to do something.

Mr.Ramaswamy concluded his presentation by empha-sizing the importance of creating compelling content that people will want to share with others. Behavior-al scientists have long known that people want to enhance their own reputa-tions and that they particu-larly value information that is perceived as scarce or exclusive. If you can pro-vide social media content that will make others look good and cause them to feel as if they are part of an exclusive scoop, your content will have the poten-tial to ignite.
