Saunders & Associates was launched in 2008 in the midst of the global financial crisis. Led by Andrew Saunders, the firm has risen to become the most effective and largest locally owned brokerage firm in the Hamptons, exclusively representing $2 billion worth of Hamptons real estate. The firm continues to grow, has attracted 180 agents thus far and has expanded with offices in Southampton Village, Bridgehampton and East Hampton.

2015 was another significant year for the firm. We transacted $1.4 billion in Hamptons properties and were involved in 5 of the top 15 sales including the highest priced transaction, a $57.3M oceanfront property in East Hampton Village. The firm also opened an elegant 5,200 sq. ft. East Hampton office, hired its 175th agent and was involved in 40% of all transactions from Southampton to Montauk.

As a developer since 1996, Andrew Saunders has conceptualized, masterfully built, financed, and sold many “south of the highway” estates in the Hamptons. He is known for his ability to match the right concept in the right location at the right time with the right buyer.

Saunders realized that his skills as a developer were synergistic with many of the qualities of a successful luxury real estate agent. He joined Sotheby’s International Realty in 2001 and quickly rose to become one of their top brokers nationwide, and in 2007 was ranked #43 of all brokers in the United States by The Wall Street Journal. After several successful years from this vantage point, Andrew observed a clear but unmet need for a Hamptons-focused real estate brokerage firm with the smartest administrative, marketing and technology professionals, all dedicated to “a higher form of realty.” A place where agents are energized and fully supported.

In 2008 this idea, this company, would come to be called Saunders & Associates.

Saunders purchased the company’s first office building in Bridgehampton in January 2008, started renovating, and opened Saunders & Associates in October, a few weeks after Lehman Brothers collapsed and the stock market crashed. Since that time, the company has evolved into the most effective real estate brokerage in the Hamptons.

The company technology network is Mac-based with professional printing and binding equipment that enable us to produce beautiful print materials in a variety of sizes and formats, entirely in house. The offices are connected by high-speed fiber optic lines, enabling the marketing team to remotely create presentations that can then be printed in any of the firm’s offices.

Another way we empower our agents to create and enable deals is by providing analysis services that review sales histories, permit requirements and zoning regulations. These are important considerations for clients and customers to contemplate when selling or purchasing a property. We understand that clarity is paramount for a smooth transaction.

Theresa Quigley, Esq. is our Executive Managing Director and General Counsel. She has been a practicing attorney for over 30 years in NYC and the Hamptons. Theresa directly assists our agents with zoning analysis, structuring transactions and negotiating deals. She interfaces with local government officials, surveyors, title companies, environmental engineers, house inspectors and lenders in an effort to move our transactions forward.

Theresa was Deputy Supervisor for East Hampton Town from 2010 through 2013 and worked for 15 years at the firm Farrell Fritz resolving real estate, tax, estate planning, corporate and environmental issues.

The Saunders marketing mandate is to continually conceive and launch new responsive ways to connect with qualified buyers for Hamptons properties aroundthe corner and around the world.
