Letter from the Australian Government
It has been an eventful last fortnight at Sattler Christian College. We’ve had Healthy Harold pay us a visit, expanded our music program and had a Chinese principal delegation with NT Government Department representatives meet about poten-tial future schooling partnerships. It was a fascinating meeting and later I had dinner with them too. I think the concept of Christianity perplexed both the Chinese and the NT Government Department representatives. While money was often on their minds and questions towards me, they seemed con-fused that people would be willing to be a blessing to them, for the simple reason that we simply want to be a blessing to them with no ulterior motive.

We heard of the tragic passing of a Wanguri Primary School student and I offered my services and prayers to them if they ever had any need of it. I extended
that to the Bees Creek Primary community too if tragic circumstanc-es were to befall them.
People may query why make the offer, I would query why not make the offer. As a Christian I passionately believe “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act”. My hope is that every child, every family, every teacher, every leader, every principal and every school in the Northern Territory will be blessed and experience great success in all that they put their hands to.
That too is my prayer for us all at Sattler Christian College, that every child, every family, every teacher and every leader will be truly blessed by their time now and into the future at Sattler Christian College.

Office Matters
CHANGE OF DETAILS
If your address, phone number or your emergency contact details have changed, please come into the front office and fill out a yellow ‘Change of Details form’ so that we can keep our records up to date.
BACK TO SCHOOL VOUCHERS
The NT Government ‘Back To School’ vouchers can be used for the purchase of school uniforms, camp fees and school fees. The $150 voucher cannot be trans-ferred to any other student. Please note that this voucher must be used by the end of Term 1.
SCHOOL UNIFORMS
If you need to purchase a uniform for your child, please fill out an order form which is available from the front office. Staff will notify you when your order is ready to be picked up from the front office. If you need to try on uniforms please make a time with front office staff.

Chinese and NT Government Department visit
Last Friday afternoon and Saturday evening some
Sattler staff had the privilege of meeting with some
Chinese and NT Government Department guests.
Moving forward we are exploring sister school possi-
bilities, not just with China, but also Indonesia. Both
nations seem to have strategic importance for the
Northern Territory and deepening our students’
awareness and experiences with these key nations
will benefit their lives moving forward in the global
economy as they become responsible global citizens.
Music Lessons in 2019
Spread the word, our performing arts culture is expanding again! Music Tuition will be offered at Sattler on Tuesdays from 5 March 2019. Kirsty May will be the tutor and she charges $30 per half hour of private tuition which includes all books, theory books and folders.
This will complement our expanding ukulele and choir program in 2019. Please come and get an information form from the office.

“Since then you have been raised with Christ, set
your mind on things above, where Christ is seated at
the right hand of God. Set your minds on things
above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your
life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ,
who is your life, appears, then you will appear with
him in glory.” (Col 3:1-4)
You’ve probably noticed it. A negative thought
(anxiety, worry, sadness) can make us feel like we
are carrying around a heavy weight. On the other
hand, a positive thought (excitement, joy) can make
us feel light, on top of the world, like we can do an-
ything, perhaps even fly!
Just like it is important to look after our physical
bodies, so it is also important to train minds.
A heavenly mindset is more than just positive
thinking, it is a reality we get to live in as Christians.
Right thinking is the key to accessing peace and joy.
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is
noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever
is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is
excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Whatever you have learned or received or heard
from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And
the God the peace of God will guard your hearts and
minds in Christ Jesus.” (Phil 4:8–9)
Paul says thinking on right things and practicing
them brings the peace of God—the very presence
of God in our lives (v. 9). The person whose
thoughts are consumed with God and his kingdom
will have perfect peace instead of anxiety and wor-

ry. When we find ourselves anxious or worried, we
can choose to access peace by meditating on the
Truth found in scripture.
Our physical bodies are kept healthy by regular
exercise and healthy eating. A heavenly mindset
is developed by a life of continual and healthy
discipline. Paul said in Romans 12:2: “Do not conform
any longer to the pattern of this world, but be
transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
How can we do this?
1. Meditating and memorising scripture in our
personal time with God but also with friends and
family. (Deut 6:6-9, Prov 13:20) Practically this
could be when you have your morning coffee, at
your church group’s bible study, journaling etc.
2. Consistent Prayer Life (1 Thess 5:16-17).
3. Taking our mind off earthly things. Practically,
this may mean not watching certain TV shows,
reading certain magazines or books, listening to
certain music, or hanging around certain people,
especially when we find they contribute to
drawing us away from God and godly thoughts.
We must be zealous to protect our thought
life and what we allow our minds to meditate
on. (2 Cor 10:5)
When we have a heavenly mindset it is easier to walk
through the trials we face in life. It becomes easier
to with stand the attacks of the enemy. It becomes
easier to praise God through every circumstance.
It becomes easier to discern negative thoughts and
replace them with positive ones.
