Background

• The CDE produces the following accountability information/reports:– Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP)– Academic Performance Index (API)– School Accountability Report Card (SARC)– School Quality Snapshot (SQS)– DataQuest

Background (Continued)

• To ensure accountability information is easily understood by parents, researchers, and the public, the CDE is continually improving accountability-related reports.

• SQS was produced to provide longitudinal data to the public in a easy-to-use two page graphical report.

• SARCs have now been transformed into web tool to allow LEAs ease of completing as well as the public easier access.

SARC Timeline

• LEAs are required to submit a SARC for each public school annually by February 1.

• The 2013-14 SARC template was available November 21, 2013.

• Previously, the SARC template was only available in downloadable word files.

• Beginning this year, SARCs can be completed online using the new SARC web tool.

• The SARC template is now a easy to use web tool – ~75% of the data template in the web tool is

pre-populated for each school– ~25% is to be completed by each local

educational agency (LEA)/school employees
