Terrell Elementary By February 1 of each year, every school in California is required by state law to publish a School Accountability Report Card (SARC).The SARC contains information about the condition and performance of each California public school. Under the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) all local educational agencies (LEAs) are required to prepare a Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), which describes how they intend to meet annual school-specific goals for all pupils, with specific activities to address state and local priorities. Additionally, data reported in an LCAP is to be consistent with data reported in the SARC. Other use restrictions may include the hours of operation, the length of time that a workstation may be used (depending on availability), the types of software programs available on a workstation, and the ability to print documents. Mrs. Michelle Reghitto, Principal Principal, Terrell Elementary Terrell Elementary, a California Distinguished School and a PBIS School (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports), provides an educational program using a framework of Direct Instruction to create a powerful concept-building learning experience for students using the common core standards in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Terrell has a strong emphasis in technology and has a computer lab, a notebook lab and 4 mobile labs, and an iPad lab for student use. Students also have access to the blended learning online programs and Achieve3000, which is resource of non- fictional articles for 2nd - 5th grade. Year-round art instruction is provided by the nonprofit organization Art Angels. Terrell students also participate in music year round in 2nd - 5th grade by a professional educator. Kindergarten and 1st grade students also receive 30 minutes of music per week by a volunteer parent. Terrell has a tremendous partnership with South Valley YMCA, offering activities and skill development through our daily coaches and P.E. program. The local business community and PTA support enrichment programs that include music for all students, study field trips, science camp for the fifth graders, curriculum-based assemblies and school-wide events that celebrate student achievements. Teachers and support staff are our greatest asset, and through their dedication and commitment, our students R.O.A.R. (Responsible, Organized, Always Respectful).
