• Editor in department that produced six magazines (total of 38 issues per
year) for clubs owned by ACSC covering Southern California (Westways);
Hawai’i (Hawai’i Westways); New Mexico (New Mexico Journey); Texas
(Texas Journey); Alabama (Alabama Journey); and Vermont, New
Hampshire, and Maine (Northern New England Journey). Hired as
Associate Managing Editor for all six publications.
• Promoted to Editor in Chief of Alabama Journey; also served as Features
Editor of Northern New England Journey, and contributing staff writer for
Westways, Hawai’i Westways, Texas Journey, and New Mexico Journey.
• Launched Alabama Journey for newly acquired club. Created structure of
magazine and worked with Creative Director to establish visual standards.
Conceived story ideas based on member demographics, market data, and
travel trends. Developed editorial calendars for 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Edited all freelance- and staff-written content. Wrote numerous articles,
including cover feature stories, profiles, Q&As, and news items.
• Produced member information section for all six Club magazines.
Coordinated with internal clients (Marketing Managers from each state for
Insurance Products, Travel Agency, Financial Products, and Automotive
Services) to conceive stories that were on strategy for each client’s annual

• Creative Services department serviced marketing, visual merchandising,
store operations, design and production departments.
• Trafficked projects including store visual merchandising materials,
marketing collateral, merchandise packaging, labels and tags for
Gymboree and Janie & Jack clothing store chains and Gymboree
Play/Music centers.
• Led effort to find one vendor to produce all store marketing materials,
combining prepress, printing, and shipping of materials to over 700 stores.
Resulted in the company saving tens of thousands of dollars.

Sunset Custom Publishing, Menlo Park, Calif.
• Editor in chief for custom-published magazines for clients Mervyn’s
(Target Corporation) and Mazda. Oversaw launch of Mazda’s Zoom Zoom
(three issues per year) and two relaunches/redesigns of Mervyn’s View
(three issues per year) based on client’s shifting needs.
• Served as primary point of contact for both clients. For Mazda, worked
with contracting CRM agency (Carlsson Marketing Group), with Mazda
directly, and with advertising agency of record, Doner. For Mervyn’s,
worked with Vice President of Marketing, as well as departments
throughout the organization, including product buyers, Community
Relations Manager, Public Relations Manager, and national style
spokesperson Kate Rice.
• Developed story list and production schedule, and assigned and edited all
freelance- and staff-written stories for both magazines. Content included
lifestyle topics such as food, travel, career, family, health, beauty, fashion,
and fitness.
• Wrote features, editor’s letters, home décor stories, and food-related items.
• Also served as articles editor for Safeway/Vons Select food and home
magazine (six issues per year).

• Managed editorial workflow from article assignment through final
proofing; set priorities for staff to maintain schedule integrity under
