  • S. Bassiano was born in 319 Consecrated as Bishop of Lodi on 31/12/374

    he died on 19/01/409.

    On the occasion of a terrible plague in 1510 was chosen by Bassanesi as their protector and patron.

    The 18/01/1682 was inaugurated in Piazza Libert, Bassano del Grappa, the statue of St. Bassiano

    in his pontifical robes blessing with his right hand in the sign of the Trinity and

    the left committed to tighten the pastoral.

    Crouched beside the saint is the famous deer, he traveling from Ravenna in Lodi would meet with her cubs

  • The children in kindergarten have heard the story of St. Bassett told and mimicked by the teacher, then molded the clay to create the statue of the Saint.

  • At primary School, the children listened to the traditional history of San Bassiano.

    Then, in groups heterogeneous in age, they first designed the figure of the Saint drawing inspiration from the statue placed in the square Libert and from some drawings.

  • Younger children were used, as stamps, different shapes of pasta dipped in tempera colors (using

    only the primary colors)

  • POINTILLISM, trying to bring out the highlights and shadows in their figure by distributing the points more or less dense in the space

    Older children could choose between two techniques:

    Third, fourth and fifth primary school

  • COLORING through the filling of the figure WITH LINES (straight, curved, broken) spaced differently between them to highlight, in this case also, the zones of light and shadow
