Ireland is an island in the northwest of Europe near the Atlantic Ocean.
People from Ireland are called Irish.
The capital of Ireland is Dublin.
Symbols of Ireland
The national flag of Ireland is green, white, and orange.
The shamrock is a four leaf clover. It’s the national plant of Ireland that the Irish says brings good luck.
Who is Saint Patrick?
Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland.
Every March 17th, we celebrate Saint Patrick´s Day.

Leprechauns
Leprechauns are tiny people dressed in green and they collect pots of gold.
Legend says that if you catch a leprechaun, he will lead you to his pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.
Why Green?
Green is the Irish color! The green shamrock leaf is the national plant of Ireland and can be found all over the country.
Ireland is also called the “Emerald Isle” with a lot of
green fields.
Green is Everywhere!
Many things are green on Saint Patrick’s Day: food, beer, and even the Chicago River in the United States!
Around the world
Saint Patrick´s Day is a national holiday in Ireland, and many other
countries celebrate this day, like the United States.
Many cities such as Dublin and New York City usual celebrate with a
parade.
You must wear green on Saint Patrick’s Day, if you don’t you may get
pinched!
