VACACIONES DE VERANO: A medida que nos

acercamos a las vacaciones de verano, les pedimos a

TEMAS PARA EL DEBATE: Tenemos tres temas que nos

gustaría ofrecer a nuestros feligreses: Primero, qué es la

depresión y cómo la manejamos. Segundo, ¿alguna vez has

experimentado un trauma y cómo lo manejas? En tercer lugar,

¿cuáles son las influencias malvadas, la posesión demoníaca y

el exorcismo?

RETIRO DE HOMBRES: El movimiento Juan

XXIII tendrá un retiro de hombres el 10, 11 y

12 de agosto en la iglesia de San Anselmo. Para más

dos ayudarán a pagar las renovaciones de la iglesia.

THE CARDINAL’S ANNUAL APPEAL: I want to

thank all of you who have already contributed to this

year’s Cardinal’s annual Appeal. Our goal this year is

twenty nine thousand dollars ($29,000.00). We have

now raised fifteen thousand ($15,000.00) towards our

goal. We are half way to reaching to reaching our goal.

TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION: We have three

topics that we would like to offer to our

parishioners: First, what is depression and

how do we handle it. Second, have you ever

experienced trauma and how do you handle it.

Third, what are evil influences, demonic

possession and exorcism.

GRATITUDE FOR PRAYERS: Sister Ellen

Maroney, President of Sister Mary Ehling’s

community the IHM, expressed her gratitude in the

following statement: “We have been overwhelmed by

the response and messages of condolence to the

congregation. Please express our gratitude to

all your family members and those with

whom you minister and anyone you know

who has been praying with and for us for

your solidarity in prayer as they search for the body of

AUGUST CONCERT: Our fund raising concert

featuring Cita Rodriguez here at Saint Cecilia / Holy

Agony is coming up on Friday, August 17th, 2018,

from 6:30pm. The funds will help in paying for the

renovations of the church. Please call the office to

reserve your seat and invite friends to make our event

successful. Carlos Diaz is working hard to make it a

success and we as parishioners have to support him

by patronizing this event for the good of our parish.

You can purchase your tickets in the parish office.

SUMMER VACATIONS: As we approach the

summer vacations we ask our parishioners to keep

Saint Cecilia/Holy Agony in mind with your

contributions that help us pay the bills every month

and the daily running of the parish. We truly thank

you for your continued support of Saint Cecilia and

Holy Agony.

RAFFLE DRAWING: Given that we did not sale

well the raffle tickets, we have postponed the

drawing to August 17 during the concert.

THE BOOK SERIES: We will continue with our

book series and for the fall we will be reading and

discussing the book, Resisting Happiness. It is in the

book store for a donation of two dollars ($2). Get your

copy and read ahead.

THANK YOU: I want to thank all the parish group

leaders, the faithful members of these groups and

all the parishioners who worked to prepare for the

street evangelization event that concluded with the

MISSION APPEAL: On the weekend of July 14 and

15 we have a visiting missionary, Father Juan

Sierra, who will talk to us about the missions and

encourage us to contribute to the mission efforts. Be as

generous as you can afford.

MEN’S RETREAT: Juan XXIII will sponsor a men’s

retreat on August 10, 11 and 12 at Saint Anselm’s

Church. Please speak to Deacon Jose Hernandez for
