As per Baba’s direction money realized through the auction of the painting will be donated by Sh. Navneet Agnihotri to Prayas for the rehabilitation of the under privilidged children. Sadguru first looks at the qualification of his disciples and then gives them suitable instructions without unsettling their minds in the least and leads them towards the goal of self realisation. Blessed are the ones who have been identified by Baba himself to truly participate in this sacred event as per their core competencies gifted by Baba. Tandons a devout Sai devotee family to play the lead role, Sh. Vineet Nagpal (Royal card Products) to Unique Combination of Painting and Sai Bhajan design and create Baba’s invitation , Sh. Neeraj Kumar (Managing trustee-Pracheen Sai Dham Mandir, Dev Nagar Police chowkee) to exhibit Sai Ek Parichay - Baba’s teachings and preachings, Naagar and party (Guruji B.M. Naagar, Sh. Bhuvnesh Naithani, Sh. Praveen Mudgal) to sing Baba’s leelas, Sh. Premnath for comparing, Sh. Dharminder Suri (General Secretary - Sai Sawali Regd. Co- Editor Sai Sumiran times) for complete event planning and event management, above all Sh. Navneet Agnihotri through whom Baba will appear on a white canvas and bless us all. If our demerits have come to an end then God arranges our meeting with saints who give us proper direction regarding our welfare. Sadgurus like Sai Baba opens our eyes of intellect and shows us the divine beauty of self and fulfills our tender longings of devotion. When this is done our desire for sense objects vanishes and twin fruits of Vivek (wisdom) and Vairagya (non attachment) come to our hands and knowledge sprouts up even in sleep. -Dharminder Suri Many persons on hearing the leelas of Lord Sai used to be skeptical about the efficacy of the leelas. They visited Shirdi in order to verify the authenticity of Baba’s leelas. As Lord Sai nath of Shirdi was/is omniscient He could know the purpose of their visits and removed their doubts. It so happened that the greater the doubting Thomas initially, the ardent devotee after visiting Shirdi. In this category stories of many persons comes to mind but the classic case is of Jetha bhai Thakkar (Chapter 35). Thakkar Dharamsey Jetha bhai was a solicitor of Bombay . Kaka Mahajani was Manager of the solicitor firm of Jethabhai and was ardent devotee of Baba. Kaka Mahajani was often visiting Shirdi and staying there for days and was returning after getting Baba’s permission. This fact was known to Jethabhai. He was doubtful about Baba’s powers and His all pervasiveness . In order to test Baba, Jethabhai also accompanied Kaka to Shirdi with another associate during Shimga holidays. After reaching Shirdi Jethabhai alongwith Kaka went to Masjid for darshan of Baba. There Jethabhai thrice tested Baba’s powers. First all of his doubt was cleared when he desired that he should get seedless raisins, then the raisins he was asked to eat were seedless which was a great surprise for Jethatbhai and his doubt was further removed when the devotee sitting next to him told him that he received variety with seeds. Secondly when a thought came to his mind that if Baba is a great saint then He must read his mind and start distributing by giving raisins to Kaka Mahajani first. Thi s thought was also read by Lord Sainath of Shirdi and Kaka Mahajani was first to receive the raisins. Jethabhai was introduced by Shama to Baba. He forgetting his resolve saluted Baba and also paid dakshina to Baba. When Jethabhai went to Baba to take His leave he wanted that Kaka Mahajani should also return with him. Generally Baba made Kaka to stay in Shirdi for some days but this time knowing the desire of Jethabhai He allowed Kaka to return to Bombay with Jethabhai. Hari Kanoba (Chapter 49) an other skeptic who went to Shirdi to test B aba a nd found Him a great satpurush. Baba removed Hari Kanoba’s doubt in a unique way. F irst Baba got his new sandals disappeared and instilled faith, confidence, trust and removed his doubts by arranging the return of his sandals by telling the boy that the sandals should be returned to the person who was the son of Hari and who was wearing jari bordered turban. Hari Kanoba was surprised as to how Baba could know the name of his father which information he never shared with anyone at Shirdi. After the ir Shirdi visit both Jethabhai and Hari Kanoba became ardent devotees of Lord Sainath. Today also Baba changes the skeptics into his ardent devotees by removing their doubts and by fulfilli ng their desires. -Premendra Ojha, (SOS)  Skeptics and Lord S ainath of Shirdi “He, who carps and cavils at others, pierces Me in the heart and injures Me, but he that suffers and endures, pleases Me most.” -Sai Baba

Baba, as promised to you Iam writing my experience inthe newsletter. I want to

thank my Baba for fulfilling allmy wishes. I pray that Hecontinues to shower Hisblessings on my family &me. By His grace, I wasblessed with healthy babygirl after struggling with infer-tility for 6 years and wentthrough a lot of medical treat-ments. I had completelygiven up hope in life. Day andnight, I would pray to Baba fora child. Once I had gone toSai temple and saw somepeople touching Sai Baba

Idol’s feet. I thought that onlythe temple committee peoplecould do that and wished inmy mind that I could fall atHis feet and beg for mywishes. We came home andat that night, I dreamt of Saiand me touching his feet ask-ing for forgiveness for any-thing wrong I have done in life.At that moment, my feet werein the air and my head down

and went round and round forsome time. I ask for forgive-ness again and then Sai

blessed me with a big laddooand said I would get pregnantin 5 months. After 2 months,I did not get pregnant with IVFand doubted again whetherit was just my mind playingtricks on me as I pray dayand night. Again I lost hope. Then exactly after 5 monthsfrom the day I dreamt I wentfor a FET, which had a veryless percentage of gettingpregnant. This time it wassuccessful. My pregnancywent on smoothly with some

minor problems. But Sai car-ried this baby for me and is atrue gift for me from Him.With His grace, we also gotour green cards for which wealso went through a lot ofhardships of being deniedand finally being approved. Ipray that He continues tobless us. Jai Sai Ram.

“I may be here in Myphysical body, and you maybe far away beyond theseven seas. Yet, whateveryou do there I know instantly.Wherever you may be,when you spread yourhands before Me in suppli-cation with faith and devo-tion, there I stand behind youday and night, as steadfastas your faith and devotionis,” said Baba to Cholkar.

Baba’s words are true for

each and every devoteeeven now; as they werethen. This is such a Leelawhere Baba literally wentbeyond the seven seas torescue a devotee.

It was during World War-1, Capt. Jahangir F.Daruwala was at sea, withhis fleet of ships. To his ut-ter dismay he realized thatthree of his ships were hit bythe enemy and were sinkingfast. Soon these three shipswith the passengers and

himself would meet thesame fate. Being a good

Captain he hoped to ferry theremaining ships to safety.

He had Baba’s photographin his pocket. He promptlytook it out and earnestlyprayed to Baba to come totheir rescue. Just as he haspraying, Baba sitting in theDwarkamai shouted “Haq,haq”. The devotees surround-ing Baba, were astonished tosee Baba completelydrenched from head to toe.The water flowed in torrents,

and the Dwarkamai soon be-came a pool of water. Thedevotees simply removedbuckets and buckets of wa-ter from the Dwarkamai forabout an hour. Then theygave Baba dry clothes towear.

As Baba was silent aboutthe cause of His beingdrenched, one of the devo-tees drank the water as holywater and found it extremelysalty. He wondered at that, but kept quiet. Simulta-

neously, at sea, Capt.Daruwala saw Baba in per-

 Spread Your Hands With Faith,

Immedi-ately on his return he cameto Shirdi and fell at Baba’sfeet. He thanked Baba foranswering his prayers soswiftly and saving the lives ofhis crew and the passen-gers. Capt. Daruwala was anardent devotee and he took

a great deal of interest inBaba’s affairs. He donatedRs.2,200/- in two install-ments for the repair of theSabha Mandap as a small‘thank you gesture’

Sai Baba was very fond

of lights. He used to borrow

oil from shopkeepers and

keep lamps burning the

whole night in the Masjid and

temple. This went on for

some time. The Banias, who

supplied oil gratis, once met

together and decided not to

give Him oil. When, as usual,

Baba went to ask for oil, they

all gave Him a distinct “No”.

Unperturbed, Baba returned

to the Masjid and kept the drywicks in the lamps. The

Banias were watching Him

with curiosity. Baba took the

Tumrel (tin pot), which

contained very little (a few

drops) of oil. He put water

into it and drank it, and then,

forced it fall into the container.

After consecrating the tin-pot

in this way, He again took the

water from the tip-pot and

filled all the lamps with it and

lighted them. To the surprise

and dismay of the watching

Banias, the lamps began to

burn and kept burning the

whole night. The Banias

repented and apologized to

Baba to forgive them, Baba

asked them to be more

truthful in future.

Turning Water into Oil

My treasury is full and I can give anyone, whathe wants, but I have to see, whether he is quali-fied to receive My gift. If you listen to Me care-fully, you will be certainly benefited. While sittingin this Masjid I never speak any untruth.”

Rama Krishna G. Kothariwas born in 1908. He was aPathari Prabhu by caste. Hisparents first visited Shirdi in1911. On that visit, they sawBaba standing near the railing

of Dwarakamai, distributingUdi to the devotees. They werefilled with devotion, and wereoverwhelmed with the love, tosee this beautiful sight. Upontheir return home, they startedworshipping a photograph ofBaba. They also started doingBhajans and called the BhajanMandali (group) ‘Sai Laj’.

In 1913 his father was seri-ously sick with pneumonia. Dr.Naik was treating him, but wasskeptical of his recovery. Hetold the family that the chancesof recovery were slim, and hewould succumb to the dis-ease. Hearing this his motherprayed to Baba and vowed thatif her husband survived, shewould do ‘Padyatra’ (walk) toShirdi and thank Baba.

The Bhajan Mandali alsocame to his home to performthe Bhajans (hyms), the wholenight. At nightfall the diseasetook a serious turn, the doctorwas summoned at 10.00 P.M.He gave the patient an injec-tion and medicines but told thewife that at about 12.00 P.M.her husband would die. Therelatives on hearing this, read

the Bhagwat Gita to the patient.Simultaneously Baba’sBhajans continued. At about11.00 P.M. the patient startedto suffocate, and had great dif-ficulty in breathing. The distortwife seeing his conditionwailed and cried saying ‘Babasave my husband’. The crisislasted till 1.00 A.M. when thedoctor was called again. Heagain gave the patient an in-

jection & assured them thatthe crisis were over.

The Bhajans continued till4.00 A.M. when the Bhajan

Mandali and the relatives as-sured the wife that her hus-band had survived, so she bet-ter get ready, for the ‘Padyatra’(pilgrimage by foot) as per hervow. From that time the patientsteadily recovered and wasambulant in a few moments. So the family and the BhajanMandali started for Shirdi. AtKopargaon, the family hiredfive bullock carts to take themto Shirdi. But the wife would notsit in the cart. She just walked, behind the carts although her

legs were swollen andbruised.

A short distance fromShirdi there was a stony, and thorny path. So shewent and rested under a

tree. She noticed a manwith a white beard in ashepherd’s dress. He ap-proached her and said,“Your vow has been ac-cepted by Baba somother, go the rest of thedistance by bullock cart”.

The lady heard the lov-ing tone in the voice butshe adhered to her vow,and trudged the rest of theway. When she reachedDwarkamai, Baba wasseated with His devoteeswhen Baba said to NanaSaheb, “I met this lady onthe way and told her to ridein the cart, but she wouldnot listen. See how swol-len and bruised her legsare! But they will be alrightby the evening.” True toHis words the swellingand the bruises vanishedby evening.

They stayed at Shirdi

for a few days and re-

turned home with Baba’s

blessings and Udi.

Baba Saved My Husband

It was through Baba’s

blessings and grace that westarted our first Sai Bhajanwith three families during thefirst Thursday of February1999. It all began with theleelas of Baba when one ofthe devotees brought abeautiful photo of Baba ( Babasitting on a stone) from Indiaand wanted to place the photoin the local temple. However, for some reason, it did notoccur. He then expressed hisdesire to start bhajans onThursdays with my family andso began the devine missionin Columbus. Both of ourfamilies joined together withanother family for the first SaiBhajan. Since then not asingle Thursday has gonewithout having Baba’sBhajans and with thisupcoming month of February,we will be completing nineyears by Baba’s grace and weare celebrating this joyfulninth anniversary of bhajansfrom February 7 to February9, 2008.As Baba says that “I will pull

my devotees to me whereverthey are” we saw devotees

pouring into weekly bhajans. As we started rotating theBhajans, at devotees homes, the number of devoteesincreased many fold. By2001, the number of familiesincreased to almost fifty. Laterthat year, I had a personalexperience, which promptedthe idea of building a mandirfor Baba:BABA’s Inspiration: After the

initial Bhajans in 1999, Iwanted to donate money forBaba’s Idol in India and withthat in my mind, during my

visit to India in 2001, I inquiredabout donating money forBaba’s idols at couple oftemples.

As it is said that “Manproposes and God disposes”,Baba had a different idea andso He didn’t want mydonation to go anywhere else. After my arrival back to US,before forming the Sri SaiBaba Temple Society of Ohio, one day I had a dream whereI was standing in theDwarakamai with foldedhands and asking “BABA,

Our Journey TowardsBuilding Sai Mandir

In Columbus, Ohio - USAplease let me know how I can

fulfill my wish?” Immediately,I heard Baba’s voice loudlysaying “Mandir” “Mandir”twice. I could not believemyself and did not reveal thisto anyone at that time.During the same weekend,

I happened to visit the localSri Sathya Sai center aftersix months. On the sameday, a divine person fromIndia, who has written manybooks on Sri Shirdi Babawas at the center. In herdiscourse, she mentionedthat she got a vision fromBaba that there will be atemple here in the city wheretwo to three devotees will bestarting and others will be

joining. After hearing that, Iwas shocked and addressedthe gathering about thedream I had ; soon by Baba’sgrace, in a major step SriSaibaba Temple Society ofOhio was formed in 2001.

By 2003, the numberfamilies participating in theBhajans increased toapproximately one-hundredand this required us to lookfor an alternate location

instead of devotees’ homes. In June of 2003, a leasedaccommodation was takenin a shopping mall. Onceagain, through Baba’smiracle we could obtain thisplace with a rent, much lowerthan the market price. Initially, devotees did all of the fourAartis to Baba on a regularbasis, and later on a priestwas hired to perform thedaily rituals for Baba. Wecontinued for almost twoyears at the same placebefore moving to our current

location.

We celebrate all the major

festivals at the mandirincluding Sri Rama Navami,Guru Purnima, Vijay Dasami, and Baba’s Punya Tithi. Atpresent, around 200devotees attend the bhajansand on festival days, thenumber goes upto 400.Numerous devotees haveexperienced miracles in thistemple. With Baba’s grace and

devotees’ support, we bought7.75 acres of land in 2005.This wooded land has anatural creek and a fewpeople with divine powershave expressed that Babahad visited and sat at thissite for sometime. BhumiSuddhi pujan was done lastyear and we are finalizing onthe design of the Mandir. Theestimated cost of theproject would be around 2.5million dollars and we areseeking Baba’s blessings tocomplete this divine project. It is BABA who has beenworking towards building thetemple; we are simply theinstruments that He haschosen for this great

cause.I will try to post other

miracles and experienceswhenever Baba permits.Jai Sai Ram,

This is to inform you that withthe blessings of Lord SaiBaba, the life history of SaiBaba the entire Holy Granth,

Shri Sai Satcharitra, hasbeen compiled in the form ofAudio C.D. (MP 3) in theresonating voice of ShriShailendra Bharti who too isa great disciple of Lord SriSai Baba. All the fifty-onechapters included in SaiSatcharitra have beencompiled with melodiousbackground music in the CD.After visiting the differenttemples of Shri Sai Babathroughout the country, it isnoticed that the devotees arenot aware of the life historyand the valuable preaching ofLord Sri Sai Baba. Many a

times they are left tothemselves for decipheringthe important events, whichhad happened during thelifetime of our Lord SRI SaiBaba. Keeping in view theaforesaid circumstances, itis of utmost importance thatwe all disciples of Lord SaiBaba try and spread themessage of Sai Baba to thebest of our capabilities. Themessages and the life history

11 Holy Sayings - “Whoeverputs his feet on Shirdi Soil, his sufferings would come toan end”.The soil of Shirdi speakssmiles and answers ourquestions.

There may be many Godsand temples in other places, but at Shirdi, we find allGods and Goddesses in SriSai Baba. We may find verygood Vedantic teachers inour towns and villages, butat Shirdi, we find SadguruSai Baba to grant us spiritualinsights as well. We maylove our dwelling places, but

Shirdi draws us whollytowards it by its lovingspirituality. Our native placemay be our birth places butShirdi is a place of the holyparent. In our places, we mayhave our houses, but Shirdi iseverybody’s home. It is thefinal abode of all.Tirupati, Kashi, Gaya,

Prayaga, Kedarnath,Badrinath, Mathura,Rameshwaram andVrindavan are pious places, pilgrim centers,Punyakshetras. Is Shirdi alsoa Punyakshetra? What is aPunyakshetra? In the field ofmagnetic energy the power ofmagnet is enormous.

Similarly in a place ofpunyakshetra, the power ofvirtue is great. Magnet drawsiron pieces. Punyakshetradraws common folks as well. The iron pieces are changedinto a magnet. Similarlypeople are transformed intodivinity by a pious place. Byvisiting a Punvakshetra, weget punya and it is a passportto take us to better Lokas for

Whoever puts his feet on Shirdi soil,
