Hard gelatin capsules are used by pharmaceutical industry for packing drugs which aresensitive to atmospheric contamination. Generally antibiotics and vitamins are packed inhard gelatin capsules.

The Rs. 700 crore domestic gelatin capsule industry is expected to witness a sustaineddemand in the next few years. However, long-term demand will be determined by the kindof durg delivery system.

The present report is a study to find out technical feasibility and economic viability ofmanufacturing empty hard capsules from pharmaceutical grade gelatin.

Presenting a book that discusses in detail the problems and the solutions of plastic waste recycling and disposal, especiallyrelevant in these times of environmental sensitivity and concern.

Why Plastic Recycling Last century and the present one can be called as th age of plastics. We use in every phase of our l ife

from feeding bottles to aircraft, plastics and polymers. As an associated nuisance, plastic disposal is a big headache. Inappropriate disposal creates disaster in many phases of our civilization such as choking of sewers,

damage of crops from plastic films thrown callously, air pollution because of unsystematic burning ofplastic etc.

Plastic is not biodegradable and cannot be decomposed in the landfill. Plastic waste recycling is the onlysolution of the problem.

Presenting a highly application-oriented book that discusses various aspects of plastic additives andchemicals as finding use in commercial plastics.

About Plastic Additives & Chemicals Virgin polymers becomes commercial plastics only after they are mixed and blended with various

additives. These additives improve and modify the polymer properties to suit various end uses. Some of the additives like mica or clay are cheap and some of the additives are specialty chemicals

such as flame retardant, plasticizers, impact modifiers etc. are expensive. Specialty chemicals are high value addition products and their market is expanding with progressive

increased use of plastics in industry and in our daily life.
