UN AND RWANDA The world with the
UN failed to end thegenocide and failedto respond quickenough to stopthese killings.
5500 UN troops weresent to Rwanda
International leaderswere informed aboutthe slaughtershowever no onebelieved or didsomething toprevent these.
This cartoon captures the contrast between the United Nation's
response to Rwanda's genocide and its recent report on the eastern
Democratic Republic of Congo.

USA INVOLVEMENT
In April 1994 the USA Bill Clinton knew Rwanda
was being engulfed by genocide however, the US
government decided to ignore the situation.
The USA chose not to do so publicly because the
president had already decided not to intervene
The administration did not publicly use the word
genocide until May 25 and even then diluted its
impact by saying "acts of genocide".

CHINAS PERCEPTION Chinas international role played two parts
part of the horror that took place and the other sidebeing remorseful
It is already proven that the Rwandan genocide couldhave been prevented.
China was responsible for supplying the governmentwith military arms.
If prevention from the United Nations was taken farmore seriously, it could have prevented China fromfunding and fueling the genocide
The Rwandan embassy and Chinas communities hadorganized the events that showed honour towards thelost and injured
