・About the FRONT

・About the BACK

There are 6 types of jewels: black, white, red, blue, yellow and green. For all players, the same rules apply: white is 1 point, black is -2pts. The jewel displayed on your target card is 3 pts., and the rest are 0 pts.

The icons in the lower left and upper right are called DAI (Dig Assist Icons). The number on the right shows the number of jewel cards represented by the icon on the left. The legend for the DAIs is as shown on the left. This legend is displayed on the back of the target cards.

Ex. The front side of a card with this icon has either a red, blue, white, or black jewel on it.

When placing stacks to set up the game, makes sure that the DAIs are

visible as shown in the diagram on the left. This way, players can guess

what is on the front side of each stack of cards, and the element of luck

is kept to a minimum.

This original system is called HSM (Header Slide Mount).

8 stacks of 5 cards each are to be placed on the table.

The front side of a card with this icon has either a yellow or black jewel on it.

The numbered icons in the upper right and lower left corners show the number of jewel cards of the type represented in the lower picture.Ex. 12 black jewel cards out of 40.

・How to use

■EXPLANATION OF CARDS

・About the FRONT Before beginning the game, deal out the cards to each player in any way desired. Players can only see the front side of their own cards. The jewel depicted in the center is the one each player values. The information on the bottom about white and black jewel points and bonuses is the same for all players.

・About the BACK

As explained above, the legend for DAIs is displayed here.Use this information for your reference during the game.

STRATEGY CARDSFRONT ・About the FRONT

The name of the strategy is at the top and the cost is at the

top-right. Place an equal number of workers as the cost on top of the strategy card. Then you may use the effects written at the bottom.

All strategy cards except for “excavation” may be used only once per round.

Cost:Use workers to make free use of thestrategy!・About limits

EXCAVATION (Cost 1)This is the basic strategy card. This adds the jewel card at the top of a stack to your hand.Of all the strategy cards, only excavation may be used as many times as desired per round by all players. If player collects the last card at the bottom of a stack, player will get double the points.Ex. If the last card contains the jewel type on the player’ s target card [3pts. x 2= 6pts.] If the last card contains a black jewel [-2pts. x 2= -4 pts.]

APPRAISAL (Cost 1)

Player can see the front of 1 of any other player’ s jewel cards.

The player who uses appraisal can choose which card to see.

The player who uses appraisal will be the starting player in the next round.

SOIL PREPARATION (Cost 1)

Player can reshuffle any two stacks of 1-5 jewel cards into any order desired.

Player may not see the front of the jewel cards. The cards are to be reshuffled

face down.

Take note that the stacks must have between 1-5 cards in them.

BURIAL (Cost 1)

Player may place one card from hand on to any stack.

Take note that stacks must have 5 or fewer cards in them.

ROBBERY (Cost 1)

Player can add 1 jewel card from another player’ s hand into player’ s own hand.

The player who uses robbery can choose which card is to be stolen.

SURVEYING (Cost 1)Player can see the front side of all jewel cards in a chosen stack.Note: Even if the player’ s target card is not in the chosen stack, player can guess its whereabouts using the process of elimination.Ex. If there are two icons on the table and player finds a black jewel in the survey, player can see that the other card with the same icon must have the yellow jewel.

P.4

MONOPOLY (Cost 1)This makes player’ s chosen stack of cards immune to the effects of other players’ strategy cards. However, the chosen stack is still vulnerable to monopoly. Therefore, if the stack player was aiming at is monopolized by another player, that other player will monopolize it in the next round. If the stack is not taken by another player, the monopoly continues until the end of the game. In the next round, by again using monopoly, player can change the stack being monopolized.A stack being monopolized can be excavated freely in any order.Other strategy card functions will have no effect.

TRANSACTION (Cost 2)

Player may exchange one jewel card in player’ s hand with one jewel card in

another player’ s hand. The player using transaction can choose which two

cards will be exchanged.

FORGERY (Cost 2)

Player can exchange the top card of the targeted stack with one of the jewel cards

in player’ s hand.

PROTECTION (Cost 1)

Player can turn as many jewels cards in player’ s hand face up as desired.

These cards will become immune to the effects of all opponents’ strategy cards.

The cards turned face up will also become immune to the player’ s own strategy

cards, so they may not be used for burial, forgery and transactions.

2. Calculating Points

A. Each target card in a player’ s hand is 3pts. B. Each white jewel card in a player’ s hand is 1pt. C. Each black jewel card in a player’ s hand is -2pts. *When a game ends with a stack reaching zero cards, the last card taken has double its usual point value. D. Having all 5 jewel cards in hand, not including the black jewel card, is +10pts. E. Having 5 jewel cards of the exact same color in hand is +20pts.

Victory conditions: The player with the highest amount of total points at the end is the winner.

1. Beginning the RoundA. Play moves from the starting player. Play moves as outlined below. ・Choose any strategy card desired. ・Place as many worker chips as displayed in the upper right corner (Cost) on the strategy card. ・The effects of the strategy card are initiated. Only the excavation card may be used as many times as desired. Condition 2: The number in the upper right of the strategy card is the number of worker chips needed (Cost). Condition 3: If a player cannot place any worker chips, that player’ s turn is skipped.

B. When all players have placed all their worker chips, the round is over. The starting player chip moves as below: ・When appraisal is chosen, that player is the starting player. ・When appraisal is NOT chosen, the starting player is the next person clockwise.

C. Each player’ s worker chips are collected. Play returns to part A. of this cycle.

*The game is over as soon as either of these ending conditions is met.
