About UsIndy Foreign Language Academy is a division of Indy Translations, LLC that has been serving the Indianapolis area since 1997. Indy Foreign Language Academy focuses on language learning and providing students the best educational experience possible.

Our goal is to provide first-class language instruction services to the general public at an affordable price. Learning another language is a key to unlocking the door to opportunities, as well as uniting cultures and communities.

Our conversational approach to teaching offers an invaluable language experience. Students learn the language by interacting with native and near native instructors. Even grammar is reinforced through continuous conversation. Classes teach all aspects of the language, including culture, but because of their conversational nature, more emphasis is placed on the development of speaking and listening skills.

Our individualized curricula allow students to learn exactly what they need to learn when studying a new language. By working with your goals and interests, your instructor will develop a program which will meet your own specific language goals and needs.

Culture in Focus: RussiaMake the most of your next trip abroad. For students who plan to travel for business or who will not need to speak a foreign language during their trip, “Culture in Focus” classes examine the cultural differences between the United States and the destination country. In “Culture in Focus: Russia,” students prepare themselves for English-language interaction with native Russian speakers. Cost: $99

Intensive Immersion ClassesLearn quickly by surrounding yourself in the language! Our conversational approach reinforces grammar through continuous conversation and application with native instructors. Various multimedia sources enhance vocabulary and grammar retention. Conversational Russian I Our beginning level Russian course introduces the basic concepts of the language while focusing on Russian as a part of everyday life. Topics include common greetings, asking for and giving personal information, basic vocabulary for travelers, colors and numbers. Students will learn to hold a basic conversation after this course on the topics that were covered in class. Cost: $225 + text

Conversational Russian II This course is a continuation of Conversational Russian I or an entry level class for students who have previously studied Russian. In this course the basics of Russian grammar are introduced, but most emphasis is placed on listening comprehension and vocabulary building. Students gain greater confidence in using Russian in everyday situations. Cost: $225 + text

Intermediate Russian IStudents who have already studied the basics of the language should enroll in this course designed for intermediate-level students. Expand your vocabulary and conversational abilities while fine-tuning your pronunciation and sentence structure. Continue to learn more about the rich culture of Russia. Cost: $225 + text

Intermediate Russian IIOur advanced intermediate class prepares students to rely on Russian as the sole means of communication. Students reinforce and expand their knowledge of the language through discussions with their instructor and peers, as well as through reading and writing practice. Advanced grammatical concepts such as case declension and perfective verbs are also introduced. Cost: $225 + text

Advanced Russian Conversation Вы говорите по-русски? Are you looking to keep your Russian skills sharp or continue learning the language? If you have studied the language for some time and already have a good grasp of grammar and a strong vocabulary, then this class is for you. Students in our Advanced Russian Conversation class continue to improve their speaking and listening skills through an entirely conversation-based program led by a native instructor, while discussing culture and current events in the Russian-speaking world.
