ROYAL PRIESTS ARE PEOPLE OF UNITY Pastor Derwin Gray Week 5 SERMON RECAP: Pastor Derwin and Vicki Gray concluded our Holy Habits sermon series with a message on how royal priests are a people of unity. Throughout this series, we have reflected on the spiritual habits and prac- tices that put us in a Christ-like rythym. One of these rythyms that we’re called to pursue is unity. When we carefully and intentionally reflect God in how we treat, relate to, and interact with others, we can live in unity with brothers and sisters in Christ. Just like brothers and sisters, we will disagree with each other. However, because we are ALL chidlren of God, ALL are worthy of dignity, respect, and love. We are unified in a common goal to love God completely, ourselves correctly, and others compassion- ately. People of unity no longer operate out of selfish ambition and desires of the flesh but out of love and esteem for those around us. We become focused on investing in others by serving them and building relationships with them. When we become unifiers for God’s kingdom, our relationships with others start to shiſt! Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we become dedicated to spurring others towards unity, as well. Unity matters to jesus; therefore, unity matters to us. How will you be a unifier for the kind- dom of God, right where you are? Take time to think through this week’s sermon and discuss with your small group. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS: UPWARD • Read Philippians 2:1-2. In these verses, Paul calls the Church to imitate the humility of Christ. How did Jesus’ humility allow Him to serve the world as a unifier? Are you interested in learning more about Jesus Christ’s character? Start by reading the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John) • Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross was the ultimate unifying act. He desires communion with and unity for us so deeply that He willingly gave up His life. What does this tell you about God’s desire for unity amongst all of His people? INWARD Read Philippians 2:3. How do we differentiate between selfish desires and self-love? What selfish desires are preventing you from loving God and others better? OUTWARD •Read John 17:20-23. How does this passage change the way you see your role as a unifier for God’s king- dom? • How can you invest in and serve others in your home? Your job? Your church? • Do you find it difficult to see your brothers and sisters in Christ as people you experience unity with? How can you center yourself on your common goal with them?

Semana 5

L O S S A C E R D O T E S R E A L E S S O NG E N T E D E L A U N I D A D
