Hi, My name is Garrett Rose I live in Yukon Oklahoma. I have many medical skills including paramedic, firefighting, and army training.After high school, I went to school for paramedic and firefighting then worked in the field for few years before joining the military. I served in the army for 2 years doing many different things combat arms(infantry) medic skills in many situations and terrains. I was challenged many times enduring hardship throughout my time but loved it all. I felt my efforts were making a difference in people lives with many thanks as well as appreciation. My goal was to become a doctor in the army until I was injured and got medically discharged so with that choice made I decided to pursue it another way. I am currently studying biochemistry and nursing to work my way into medical school to become a doctor(surgeon). I have a passion for helping other especially when it's needed the most. I can attest to this due to my family and I was in need from many strangers after May 20, 2013, when the devasting EF5 tornado destroyed our home. Only 10 days later after arriving back home from being discharged from the army. It made my transition much more difficult because of this traumatic event. What I remember seeing that gave hope in this situation was all the people strangers, neighbors, first responders working hard and together. Out of all the many organizations, I remember ROWW the most feeling how amazing it was seeing the late Paul Walker's organization being present. I will forever be a fan of Paul Walker his legacy ROWW. I know what it means to lose someone close, makes things truly hard since it will never leave you because on a daily basis we are reminded by it from many angles. Since the tornado, I have been wanting to join ROWW for a experience of a lifetime and give thanks to all of you. Especially, after the late Paul Walker untimely death it's heart breaking. The purpose of me writing this is to let you see a little about myself and where I'm coming from and to thank all of you face to face. Now, hoping to be part of ROWW. Hoping the Walker family and ROWW can give I the opportunity to give back to those in need as you did for my community by being part of something bigger than myself again I hope to meet with you all one day!
