Page 1 THE COG - RCM Meeting 1641 Bulletin 16 August 2017 Our recent Morialta Club meeting focused on Membership strategies and was led by Membership Committee Director David Riggall with assistance from Committee member Kym Davis. Thanks to both as it was an interesting discussion with some great ideas for further action to ensure we grow as a Rotary Club. Several members contributed with ideas grounded in the need to attract likeminded people willing to give back to their community through significant projects and activities that make the difference both locally and internationally. Issues such as reduced fees for couples, specific activities that will interest younger potential members and the need to re-engage with local business people and enterprises were identified. We look forward to hearing how the Membership Committee will take these ideas forward in developing a viable and critical membership strategy for our Club. Last meeting also saw the appointment of Brian Sincock to the newly created position in the Club of Public Relations and Marketing. This position will enable our Club to better identify to our community and others the many and varied projects that our Club undertakes both in our community and elsewhere in the name of Rotary. Dining outside in the hotel restaurant after the meeting, just for something different, appeared to be met with a positive reaction from members so we plan to continue with this alternative following monthly Committee meetings in the future. Minutes of the Board meeting are being developed and action items will be in the next COG for information. Thanks to our Treasurer Peter Mayer our Budget for 2017 – 2018 which has been provided to members. Any questions or comments can be directed to either myself or Peter. The Club looks forward in the next few weeks to welcoming back several members from their travels and to farewelling and safe journey to others. For members that we haven’t seen for a while we do miss you at meetings and hope to see you soon as our Club will only ever be strong while it has members willing to be involved. A reminder to please contact me with all apologies for meetings until Djuro Rakic is back on board. Any items for the COG for the next 4 weeks need to go to Judy Cushway as Katarina is on Safari! Great results for both S.A footy teams this week – what a talented state we are in S.A. Keep warm! THE COG - RCM Meeting 1641 Bulletin 16 August 2017

Our recent Morialta Club meeting focused on Membership strategies and was led by Membership Committee

Director David Riggall with assistance from Committee member Kym Davis. Thanks to both as it was an interesting

discussion with some great ideas for further action to ensure we grow as a Rotary Club. Several members

contributed with ideas grounded in the need to attract likeminded people willing to give back to their community

through significant projects and activities that make the difference both locally and internationally. Issues such as

reduced fees for couples, specific activities that will interest younger potential members and the need to re-engage

with local business people and enterprises were identified. We look forward to hearing how the Membership

Committee will take these ideas forward in developing a viable and critical membership strategy for our Club.

Last meeting also saw the appointment of Brian Sincock to the newly created position in the Club of Public Relations

and Marketing. This position will enable our Club to better identify to our community and others the many and

varied projects that our Club undertakes both in our community and elsewhere in the name of Rotary.

Dining outside in the hotel restaurant after the meeting, just for something different, appeared to be met with a

positive reaction from members so we plan to continue with this alternative following monthly Committee meetings

in the future.

Minutes of the Board meeting are being developed and action items will be in the next COG for information. Thanks

to our Treasurer Peter Mayer our Budget for 2017 – 2018 which has been provided to members. Any questions or

comments can be directed to either myself or Peter.

The Club looks forward in the next few weeks to welcoming back several members from their travels and to

farewelling and safe journey to others. For members that we haven’t seen for a while we do miss you at meetings

and hope to see you soon as our Club will only ever be strong while it has members willing to be involved.

A reminder to please contact me with all apologies for meetings until Djuro Rakic is back on board.

Any items for the COG for the next 4 weeks need to go to Judy Cushway as Katarina is on Safari!

Great results for both S.A footy teams this week – what a talented state we are in S.A.

Keep warm!

26,27,28,29 OCTOBER – USA VISIT

CONFERENCE ACCOMODATION 22ND-24TH march 2018. I have been able to secure Conference accommodation at the Vineyards Motel in the Barossa on the way to Angaston. It is conveniently situated near the famous Barossa Markets(Saturday Mornings) Opposite the Vintners Restaurant and near to the Saltram Estate. I have already filled the 6 King Rooms & 1 Twin Room , so now there are 6 Queen rooms available for $99 per night with Continental Breakfast included. I negotiated the deal to have breakfast included and this represents good value for what else is around at this time. The Motel is a member of the Golden Chain Group And will be quite comfortable and clean at a modest price. ALL ENQUIRIES FOR THIS BOOKING MUST BE DIRECTED TO ME. THANKYOU Marian Jennings Fellowship Director.

CAMPBELLTOWN COUNCIL – FUNDRAISER MEALS ON WHEELS

Hi all, you may recall an earlier email asking you to attend my Fundraiser to be held at the Function Centre On Sat 14 October 2017, it will be a fun night dancing, swinging and discoing to the great sound of the 70’s. Tickets are now available to purchase and are already selling fast. At this stage I would appreciate ticket sales as a group of ten so that tables are easily filled, however any sales would be appreciated. At $30 a ticket including a meal and all proceeds going to the great people of the Campbelltown Meals on Wheels I’m hopeful all my colleagues and friends will support this event, get a table of 10 together and come and enjoy a great night. Look at the attached flyer and contact me for tickets, tickets will only be issued on full payment for recording purposes. So looking forward to seeing you all. Thanks a lot
