Formed in 2009, the Roswell North Elementary

Foundation exists to enrich and support the

academic experience of the students at

Roswell North Elementary School. In 10 years,

we have raised over $500,000!

The Foundation annually funds all costs of

the Licata Science Lab, the Life Science

Extension, and the RNE Garden. RNEF also

funds the 5th Grade Field Trip, dissection

experiments for all grade levels, and other

improvements and initiatives consistent with

the school's strategic plan.

It costs $400 + per day tooperate the labs and the

garden.

Funds raised come fromparents and teachersdonating to the RNEF

Annual Fall Campaign, aSpring Soiree & Auction,

and a growing communityBusiness Sponsorship

Program.

community charities- in just over four years,

approximately 2,000 lbs of produce have been donated

The 2019/2020 school year was filled with exciting new

opportunities for RNE students to connect with one another

through the wonder of science! Highlights include:

The year was not without its struggles. Our fundraising was

cut short due to the COVID-19 Pandemic shutting schools

down in March. The eventual cancellation of our Annual

Spring Soiree was a disappointment; but it led to new

fundraising opportunities for the future, with the addition

of the "Golf FORE Science Classic" Golf Tournament in

August.

Lab & Garden CurriculumLab & Garden Curriculum

Cases of GA grown squash were donated by the

RNE/FCSS Nutrition Department to the Kitchen Lab for

use in cooking demonstrations and taste tests.

Healthy food was used for celebrations- upon the RNEF

reaching their fundraising goal, students celebrated with

a taste test of "Fresh Corn and Black Bean Salsa" at

lunch.

While students were learning at home in March-May,

lessons and content were still being provided in the form

of "make at home" science projects, virtual field trips,

videos of the garden harvest, and MUCH more.

Harvested vegetables were donated to a local restaurant

group who created "Table and Aid." Over 9,000 free

meals were given away to members of the Roswell

community who were in need during the height of the

COVID-19 crisis.
