Romania and The European Union

• Romania joins the European Union on 1 January 2007 along

with Bulgaria.

• It was the latest expansion of the EU, though considered by

the European Commission as part of the same wave (the

fifth) as the 2004 enlargement of the European Union.

Conclusions…

The Post Accession Strategy did not delivered results until now not

because is a bad strategy but because the implementation instruments

are not well defined and developed yet!

…BUT NOT THE WRONG STRATEGY !
