Springsteen, you took the leftist line on Israel instead of thinking things out for

yourself. This is a shame because I consider you my mureed (follower). When you

played on the Jersey Coast, before you got famous, a friend of mine would go to see

your show and give you a copy of the East Village Other with my articles about rock

poetry in them. That is where you, my mureed learned to write poetry. You even sing

“The backstreet girls are listening to the records in AJ ways” but the lyrics read “the D.J.

plays.” Then you wrote Adam Raised a Cain which sounds to me more like “Alan where

is the key?” and is about someone who spends his time looking into someone else’s



purse. There were other references to me in your poetry when you wrote about Bob

Dylan, many of them positive for a change. So Springsteen you have a lot to thank me

for and should not endanger my existence by hoping to destroy the State of Israel. The

reality here is that anyone who opposes the existence of the State of Israel, in light of

previous history, opposes the existence of the Jews. If you love the Palestinians go to

the West Bank and do a concert. You can’t do that in Gaza because under Islamic law

secular music is banned.



You took the dogmatic Leftist line. But what did I expect? It is your religion so it is

unchanging. You wouldn’t dare write a song about Islam, or even mention it on a poetic

level. Israel bashing is in style. So Bruce think of something else to write about, I know

it’s hard by this time, give it a try. Why not write a song about Iran?
