Greasbrough village hall Year 5 starting their art project for the Wingfield Ward, exploring the history of Greasbrough village hall. Well done Y5A your art work is stunning. We are hoping that our artwork will be displayed on the side of Greasbrough library to remember how important the village hall was to the community. Thank you to our Wingfield councillors for asking us to take part and be involved in such a wonderful project.

Aliens FS2 This week the children have been creating their own aliens and writing a character description. They then brought their aliens to life through clay. The children practised moulding clay to make the body and then used different media to make it into an alien. Our Foundation children are really enjoying their space project and exploring new books.

Y5A’s Visit to Bradford Museum Our Year five children have been to the Bradford Museum of Film and Photography linked to their topic ‘The Magic of Film’ the children have explored the transformation, impact and image and sound technologies in our lives.

Points to note:- Any parents wanting to help raise awareness of the speed limit on Roughwood Road and learn how to use a speed gun... contact the school office and register your interest. Free School Meals. Because all of KS1 children currebtly have a free lunch, some families are not claiming for free school meals to which they would be entitled. This means school does not get the funding for these pupils. If you are unsure it this affects you please contact our school office, as unallocated funding just goes back to the government which would be such a shame when we could be doing even more to improve Rockingham J & I School. Mrs Chandler. I would like to make you all aware that Mrs Chandler will be leaving Rockingham J & I School at the end of this school term. We would like to thank Mrs Chandler for her contribution to Rockingham J & I school over the last 3 years and wish her well for the future. Head Lice. We are receiving lots of reports from parents/carers that children are getting head lice. If your child brings home a letter advising of head lice in their class can you please check your child’s hair and administer treatment if they need it. This is the only way to stop them spreading around school again. Thank you. Reminder. Can we please make sure that we aren’t parking in the carpark unless a prior arrangement has been made with school? We have lots of trips going out and swimming on a Wednesday this is proving difficult in ensuring the children are safe when walking to the coach. Please be mindful that children are out and about and we need to ensure they are safe at all times.

Happy Half term and thank you again for your continued support, we are looking forward to seeing more parents in school during our next

term.
