Students in this broadcast journalism class produce the weekly news show Monday in the Middle.

Speech Arts Appreciation (TV Broadcasting)
• TV Broadcasting is back! Learn how to compose, write, direct, act, edit, and air information for Robinson Middle School! This class is geared toward self-starters: students that have a drive to find, collect, and share information with the school. This course will explore the techniques and skills needed to execute a Robinson MS news/information broadcast. Students will work weekly on creating interest pieces, collecting interviews, sharing announcements, shooting, editing, and on-camera delivery.

esFOUNDATIONS:Beginning art class for 7th and 8th graders.
Artists work with ideas such as transformation, endangered animals, realism and fantasy.
Projects include: pencil, colored pencil, shading skills, realistic drawing, cartooning and fantasy drawings with pastels and
EXTENSIONS:Taken after the Foundations class.
Students work conceptually with ideas like identity, recycle art, metaphors, and
relationships.
Media used: charcoal and pencil, painting with acrylics, ceramics,
sculpture, printmaking, computers and collage.

An exciting sculpture class that includes ceramic clay, large cardboard and
paper mache construction mobiles.
Computers in Art:Artists work with ideas like the relationship between computer and materials based art, time, movement and design.

6 Different Levels of Band offered, INCLUDING Beginning Band!
Experienced band students should select the INTERMEDIATE BANDoption on the course selection
sheet, but final placements will be determined by audition.
Piano
• Students will learn basic performance technique on piano and learn beginning to intermediate repertoire. Students with previous piano experience will be encouraged to expand on what they know and try new skills and music. There will be a recital for your principals at the end of the course.
• Benefits: Students who take this course will learn basic to intermediate music literacy skills, as well as how to put those skills to use by writing their own music. You can look forward to a collaborative environment while you explore your piano playing skills

What kind of a student will be successful in the World Languages classroom in 7th grade?
A student who is interested in the language and the culture, is self-motivated, who can work independently on homework, who
does not struggle with memorization.
Spanish Immersion
Only open to those students who were in Spanish Immersion 1st-6th grade.
Both 7th and 8th grade Spanish Immersion earn one high school credit.
