FIELD STUDIES Spring includes our annual week-long eld studies which gives students and teachers the chance to use their knowledge in real-world, experiential settings. Students, faculty and staff head out of the classroom for a variety of direct experiences in Sum-merlake, Ashland, Portland and Antelope.

VISUAL & PERFORMING ARTSOur arts-rich curriculum requiring four years of visual and/or performing arts provides a rich arts experience. Visual art courses encompass a broad range of sub-jects from cartooning to sculpture and design. Par-ticipating in the annual musical, band, choirs and jazz band give students the opportunity to demonstrate their many talents to the school community and beyond.

SENIOR EXHIBITION Senior Exhibition is the Riverdale High School culminating project. It combines research, writing and presentation skills with experiential learning and service. A major component of the project is service learning,

y service as research. This service is designed to help students more fully understand the topic they have decided to explore, and to give them hands-on, real world experience. This six-month project results in a comprehensive paper (thesis) and oral presentation to the community.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

SERVICE Service at Riverdale is more than community service or volunteerism; it links education to service and service to learning. At Riverdale High School we have a 90-hour service graduation requirement. This happens through individual community service and classroom service learning projects. Participating in service projects prepares our students to be good leaders good community members, and good citizens.
