The peninsula of Búzios is a resort town and a municipality only 100 miles north of Rio.
Originally settled by European pirates and slave traders, this diverse city enjoyed periods of
prosperity, emerging as one of Brazil’s most picturesque fishing villages and elected one of the
10 most beautiful areas in the world. In the early 1900s, it was a favorite with the Carioca high
society, eager to exchange the vibrancy of Rio city life for the crystal-clear waters of Buzios’s
23 beaches. However, it was not until the arrival of French actress Brigitte Bardot in 1964 that it
became wildly and irreversibly popular with the beautiful set. A bronze statue commemorating
her visit remains on the Orla Bardot Boardwalk looking across to the waterfront. While Búzios
is noted for its sophistication, rustic charm and distinctive architecture, its main activity is
beach-hopping

Recife, capital of the state of Pernambuco in Northeast Brazil, is also the Portuguese word for
reef, and refers to the long stone reef running parallel to its shoreline. The many rivers, small
islands, waterways and 50-plus bridges found in the city center characterize its geography and
give Recife its nickname--the "Brazilian Venice”. Recife is also a major cultural hub--Here you
will find the Synagogue Kahal Zur, the oldest synagogue in the Americas, built in 1636 during
the Dutch occupation, as well as many opulent churches from the Portuguese colonial period.
Maracatu, a performance of Afro-Brazilian origin, emerged from Recife and Olinda. Located
just a couple of miles away, Olinda is one of the best-preserved colonial cities in Brazil. Like
Recife, Olinda features a number of major attractions, such as an historic downtown area, a

until 1763, and one of the oldest colonial cities in the Americas. It is considered the most African
city in the Americas due to the derivation of its cuisine, religion, music and arts from African
origin. Sometimes referred to as the “land of happiness”, Salvador is a haven for music lovers
and its yearly Carnaval is the largest street Carnaval in the world. It is also home to white sand
beaches, beautiful islands, charming coastal villages and rainforests. If you like culture, music

colonial architecture and historical monuments. Along the way, we will stop at the São
Francisco Church, a symbol of baroque style with exquisite golden woodwork, and continue
towards the Square, the heart of the neighborhood.
The Lower City tour offers another perspective of the sprawling city, taking us to the quiet
waters of the Itapagipe Peninsula where life moves at a slower pace than the bustling upper
city. Fishermen fish from dugout canoes, locals collect shellfish at low tide, schooners lie at
anchor, all protected by the famous Bonfim church, one of the most important churches of
pilgrimage in Brazil and deeply influenced by the Candomblé beliefs. We continue to the

IGUASSU (BRAZIL)
3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS
APRIL 23RD – 25TH, 2016
The Iguassu Falls, 275 waterfalls of the Iguassu River straddling the jungle borders between
Brazil and Argentina, are one of nature’s most spectacular creations. A 2-hour flight connects
Rio, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires to the city of Iguassu and both sides of the Falls. The Brazilian
side is farther from the tumblers but delivers a panorama and better view of the greatest
section, Devil’s Throat. Here, 14 falls combine in the 330-foot fall, pounding the water below
with such force that there is a constantly rising huge rainbow-spanned cloud of spray. The
Argentinian side, however, is more pleasant to explore, and offers such a close-up of the
thundering water that most visitors wear waterproof raincoats. The Falls are shared by two
Iguassu parks—the National Park in Brazil and the Nacional Park in Argentina—each has been
designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You must visit both!
ITINERARY:
Day 1 –Iguassu Falls
Upon arrival at the airport transfer to the hotel. Balance of the day at leisure. Overnight at the
hotel.
Day 2 –Iguassu Falls
Buffet breakfast at the hotel.
Today we tour the Brazilian side, starting from the Park, which has a road leading to the start of
the Cascades Trail, a moderate walk that takes you high above the river to a series of galleries
with great views of the Argentinian side. At the end of the path, walk down to a boardwalk
which extends to the lower base of Devil’s Throat. Or, you can stay on the car the way to the
end, and take a glass-enclosed elevator down. In any case, be aware of the coatis you encounter
en route– they know what snacks you are carrying and will climb up and help themselves!
Then embark on the Macuco Safari. The big adventure begins inside the Iguassu National Park.
The tour starts with a ride through the Macuco Trail in an open jeep-towed wagon permitting a
free view of the scenery. During the ride there is a stop for those who want to take a dip in one
of the falls (optional). Next head to the Macuco Safari dock on the Brazilian side of the Iguassu
River. Board an inflatable bi-motor boats. The boat travels up-river, passing the canyon, facing
the rapids. Rocks, animals and a spectacular green landscape complete the scenery until it
reachs the great horseshoe known as the Devil's Throat. To top the tour off, the pilot will give
everyone a splash by navigating through the spray of one of the falls!
We recommend that passengers bring a change of clothes, due to the constant spray from the falls, and
don't bring anything that cannot get wet - lockers are available at the pier before boarding.
After lunch (ow own), we’ll cross the border into Argentina and depart for a tour of the
Argentinian side of the falls. An environmentally friendly, open air, narrow gauge Waterfalls
Train runs through the forest, alive with orchids, colorful birds and brilliant butterflies, and
deposits you at Devil’s Gorge Station. From here, steel catwalks on the upper side of the river
offer a fine wildlife show and bring you to the suspended platform at the brink of Devil’s
Throat, while another trail leads eventually to a stairway to the river below, where a short boat
ride—highly recommended—makes a pass close to one of the falls. Count on getting soaked in
either case! Nearby is a marker showing the point at which Brazil, Argentine and Paraguay
converge.
Overnight at the hotel. (B)
Day 3 – Iguassu Falls
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. At an appropriate time, transfer to the airport.
(B) Breakfast, (L) Lunch, (D) Dinner
RATES:
STANDARD ROOM:
- $695.00 per person / double occupancy
- $1070.00 Single

Accommodation for 2 nights at a (4*) hotel.

Walking tour to the Brazilian falls from the hotel is private.

BUENOS AIRES (ARGENTINA)
4 DAYS / 3 NIGHTS
APRIL 23RD – 25TH, 2016
Buenos Aires, Argentina’s big, cosmopolitan capital, is known for its European atmosphere,
passionate tango and vibrant nightlife. Its center is the 16th-century Plaza de Mayo, lined with
stately buildings including Casa Rosada, the iconic, balconied presidential palace. In
Microcentro, Florida Street is the main shopping thoroughfare, leading to Plaza San Martín, a
busy park that was once the site of a bullfighting arena.
ITINERARY:
Day 1 – Buenos Aires
Upon arrival at the airport you will be transferred to your hotel in Buenos Aires. Balance of the
day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 – Buenos Aires
Buffet breakfast at the hotel.
Today’s tour starts from what is the second and most definitive capital of the area named Plaza
de Armas in 1580 and today known as Plaza de Mayo, the historical, political and cultural
center of the city. The Pyramid de Mayo, which is in the center, was the first national historical
monument and was inaugurated in 1811. In its surrounding areas you can see Casa Rosada the
actual seat of Executive Power (Presidential Palace), the Cabinet, and the first municipality of
the city that dates back to 1754 and still maintains its colonial characteristics, and the
Metropolitan Cathedral. From the Plaza, we start the tour going down Avenida de Mayo, one
of the most interesting urban developments of the city with its variety of architectural styles,
wide avenues and spacious green areas which balance out the vertiginous rhythm of the city.
The tour continues all the way to the neighborhood of San Telmo, one of the oldest in the city,
settled at the end of the XIX century by aristocratic families. This neighborhood, where every
Sunday the antiques fair takes place around Plaza Dorrego, retains its great architectural
heritage. The area is also very active at night as it is the center for most of the tango parlors,
“tanguerias”, restaurants and bars. Going further south, arrive at the picturesque and colorful
port neighborhood of La Boca, with its famous street “Caminito” whose buildings and customs
reflect the influence of European settlers that arrived at its shores during the XIX century and
left their imprint not only in the multicolor houses still being used today but also in the cuisine
of the typical “cantinas,” small restaurants. Followed by this comes the modern neighborhood
of Puerto Madero, with its old piers converted into offices, apartments, places for entertainment
and elegant restaurants, and its views of Rio de la Plata, a residential neighborhood of Palermo
with elegant mansions surrounded by spacious parks. Return to the hotel. Balance of the day
at leisure. Overnight at the hotel. (B)
Day 3 Buenos Aires
Buffet breakfast at the hotel.
Depart the hotel towards the village of Cardales, 90 km. from Buenos Aires, for a day in the
country at Estancia Santa Susana. The estancia, owned by the Rossiter family since 1860, covers
1200 hectares mostly used for agriculture, and to a lesser extent for cattle and horse breeding. A
few years ago, the estancia opened for visitors, and had to convert the facilities for that purpose.
It consists of the main house and a series of sheds that function as dining room, bar and grill.
The day starts savoring meat empanadas and wine at the bar. Later, at the dining room taste an
authentic barbecue (roast beef, chicken, salads, dessert and coffee), followed by a folkloric dance
and music show, a tango demonstration, and afterwards an exhibition of roping and ring games
where gauchos display their horsemanship abilities. For those who wish to participate more
actively, the estancia has horse and horse drawn carriages available for visitors to explore the
countryside at leisure. A snack is served in the evening, which includes mate and pastries.
