    1. INTRODUCTION

The epic stories of the three great monotheistic religions on this planet which is

Muslims, who worship Allah, Christians that worship Jesus, and lastly, Jew have played

out on the land of Israel and Palestine, which have been called as The Holy Land. This

ancient ethnic mix is complicated by religions. Israelis were Jewish. Christians worshipJesus. And today, most Arabs here are Muslim a religion that arrived later in the

seventh century, with their prophet, Muhammad. The troubled begin goes back nearly

4,000 years when the Arabs and Jews who call this region home share a family tree.

Thats happened when the prophet Abraham had two sons, Isaac and Ismael. The

trouble is when Isaac came to be the Israelis, while Ismael spawned the Arabs. That

means that todays Jews and Arabs are shared similar DNA. They speak closely related

languages, and have a genuine historical claim to this Holy Land.

Today, Israel and Palestine have been separated by a border known as the

Green Line which established by the intervention of a third party, United Nations, which

worsen the situation. Jews, people without a land that dispersed throughout the world

after being attacked by the Romans in 70 A.D, come back and claimed that this is their

home and hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were displaced and they struggle to

reach the peaceful way to share what each consider as their rightful homeland.

And today, there a some culture appeared in this Holy Land that strongly

influenced by this three great monotheistic religions, Jew, Christians, and Islam and their

ancient history fought claiming this Holy Land. This culture can be clearly discovered

    through USNPS 11 elements.

    2.A. PROCESSES

    2.A.1. LAND USES AND ACTIVITY

    a) Holy place

Jerusalem is the holiest sites. Many people claim that Jerusalem as theclosest place on earth to heaven. According to Rick Steves (2014), beforeColumbus and the illustrious class of 1500, many maps showed Jerusalem as thecenter of the world. Jerusalemholy, treasured, and long fought over among thethree great monotheistic religions- has been destroyed and rebuild 14 times.Everyone and everything in Jerusalem has a story.

The Dome of the Rock is one of Jerusalems landmarks. Located at thecenter of the Temple Mount, a religious site in Jerusalem sits the elevatedstructure. It was built over a rock that is considered to be holy. The stone isbelieve by Muslims to be the place from which the prophet Muhammad ended hisNight Journey to Jerusalem and ascended to heaven, while Jews believe thisplace to be the center of the earth and have been worshipped here since 3000

years ago. In Jewish, Christian, and Muslim tradition, Abraham has been asked byGod to prove his faith by sacrificing his son Isaac. Because of that, many considerthat this place to be the closest place on earth to heaven.

Another holistic site is the Temple Mount. Temple Mount has beendestroyed several times. The First Temple has been built by Solomon, the son of

King David who united the 12 tribes of Israel. Then, the Second Temple was builtafter the First Temple was burned by invaders and lastly has been destroyed bythe Roman in 70 A.D, catastrophic year of Jews. Only a bit of the westernfoundation of the wall surrounding this ancient temple survived. This survivedwestern wall then became the worship place for the Jews. They gather here at theWestern Wall to recall a horrible past and pray for a better future.

For Christians, Jerusalem is the place where Jesus was crucified, buried, and resurrected 2,000 years ago. Their worship place is the Church of the HolySepulchre, also known as the Church of the Resurrection. This holy place iswhere Jesus of Nazareth was crucified, and also contains the place where Jesushas been buried. The church has been an important Christian pilgrimage

destination since the last fourth century ago as the holy site of the resurrection ofJesus.

Another holistic site placed at Hebron. The uniqueness of this place isJews and Muslims sharing The Tomb of Abraham. They worship under the sameroof but separated as a mosque for a Muslims and synagogue for the Jews with

    Abrahams tomb in the middle.

    b) Residential

Today, about half a millions Israeli Jews live in settlements in Palestine. These planned and gated communities come with all the comforts. They live inplanned communities with beautifully landscaped and designed and fortifiedcommunities built mostly in the last generation on ridges and hilltops within the

    West Bank.

20,000 people of Palestine who has been displaced after World War IIwhen Jews returned to create a modern state of Israel have to live at the BalataRefugee Camp, outside of the city of Nablus. They live in the multistorycinderblock tenements with narrow lanes, tight quarters, horrible density and alittle privacy. These people, who lived at these camp is filled with destitution, frustration, and faint but distant hope.

    c) Institution

Jerusalems unforgettable Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Museum tells

a compelling story and stirs powerful emotions. Israel works to keep the memoryof the millions of Jews killed by Hitler alive and strong. Israel has constructed amemorial and museum, called Yad Vashem, to honor those victims. In the Hall ofNames, a vast archive surrounds a collection of faces of Jews killed during thetragedy.

Another institution that has been covered by the video of The Holy Land byRick Steves is Birzeit University. Its campus is at the edge of Ramallah, has anenrollment of about 10,000 students. The campus was a sharp contrast with theintense and chaotic cities with beautiful landscaping connecting modern buildings.

2.A.2 RESPONSE TO THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

The Sea of Galilee is 700 feet below sea level with 13 miles long by 8miles wide, and fed and drained by the Jordan River which is Israels main sourceof water. The Jordan River dumps into the north end of the lake, oxygenating thewater and attracting a high concentration of fish and fishermen. The Catholic built

The Church of the Primacy of St. Peter, high above Galilee, 2,000 years ago forworship as they believed this is a very important site, as it established theimportance of Peter, the first pope among the disciples.

At the west of Bethlehem, there are natural preserve for hiking near thevillage of Battir. In ancient times, this terrain has been defined by its fine trailsnaked along terraces. This land is holy to its inhabitants. For Palestinians, theolive tree that has been planted at this terrace is a symbol of faith in the future astheir ancestors work these terraces for them to eat. And now, they plant it for theirgrandchildren to eat.

At the end of the Jordan River, there is Dead Sea, the lowest place on

earth which is about 1,400 feet below sea level. Dead Sea become a tourism spotas resorts have been developed here for the tourist enjoy the bobbing corks inwater thats about six times as salty as the ocean. Many believed the mudsmineral make their skin younger and more beautiful.

    3. CONCLUSION

As a conclusion, the result of the societal and physical barriers that separatethem just make these people on both sides will not get to know each other eventhough for the young generation, have a chances to grab the peaceful life. It is

almost impossible for those both side to connect in any way or even have a chanceto live as one community like the other mix religion community in other nations.

Israelis and Palestinians share an ancient history homeland and both of themhave a meaningful rich tradition and culture and they should share this land. Manyof them hope for a peace living. They were caring people which trapped in aproblem. Both communities have inflicted pain and endured pain.

In the separate society, the restrictions of the law and of ethics are the onlyrestrictions when it comes to bargaining. Within the context of the law and the rulesof ethics, one can bargain over any issue in dispute. In the context of bargaining, negotiators expect concessions from the other side, just as they themselves are

willing to make concessions. This perspective of give and take is seen in andseparate society as the basis solution for this conflict. The question is what to giveand what to take, whose will give and who will take since these both societiesalways claiming that this Holy Land is their rightful ancient homeland.
