RF based Energy Meter

• Energy meter:-

The Device that measures the amount of electricity consumed by a residence, business or an electrically powered device.

• Radio Frequency:-

communication between different sources though the signals with certain bandwidth without any wires.

• The aim of the project is to control the illegal usage of electricity by the customers as well as wrong bill generation by the department people.

Reasons

• Mischief activities by the customers in using power can be completely avoided as the amount of power usage (in units) is directly transmitted to the electricity department and also stored in the external memory.

• customers also can claim the department and ask for cross verification for improper bill generation. As the system is an automated system and the database is not manually maintained this would be a great relief to the customers also.

RF based Energy Meter• System is based on Embedded micro controller (8051).• Project consist of two main blocks Transmitter and

Receiver.• KEIL is an IDE (Integrated Development Environment).• The main hardware component used in the project is 8051

Micro controller.

Advantages• Tampering is Impossible.• The bill calculation and generation is automated at the

department side and then posted to customers.• This design is data transmission without any wire .
