Review of Related Research Literature There are some researches that have ever used the picture series as a media for teaching speaking. The first is the research with the title “Improving Speaking Ability by Using Series of Picture” that has been conducted by Uliyanti (2012), she applied the picture series during teaching speaking to twenty students of SMP Ar-Risalah Kediri. After giving treatments to the students, the speaking score of the students increase and the students get more self confidence. Then, there is also a library research entitled ” The Use of Picture Series in Solving Speaking Problems of Vocabulary Limitation and Idea Expression” which has been conducted by Wahyuni (2013). She states on her research that picture series is an effective media to improve students’ achievement in speaking such as vocabulary and expressing the idea. Another research from Nurlifiah (2013) entitled “Improving Students Speaking Skill in Demonstrating Procedure Text by Using Series of Pictures”, has a result that the picture series have built up the students’ interesting. It is proven after the researcher giving treatments to seventy students of SMA N 1 Ketanggungan.
