Memo for Record: Review of FY12 TM hand

FY12 Team Member Handbook, p17: Attendance/TardinessAbsence is defined as any failure on the part of the team member to report to work on the date scheduled to work. This

definition includes, but is not limited to, lost time due to illness, injury, personal business or other reasons for which thecompany is not responsible. Vacation, jury duty and approved leaves of absence, including leaves of absence pursuantto federal or state law, are not counted as absences. Tardiness is defined as any failure on the part of the team memberto report to work at the starting time of the scheduled work shift, or to return promptly from a meal or rest period. Everyjob at FedEx Office is important to our team members and customers. Regular and prompt attendance is essential if youare to properly perform your assigned duties. Tardiness and absence place a burden on other team members who mustthen do your job. This affects their performance and ultimately our service to the customer. We realize that, due tosickness or other compelling reasons, you may find it necessary to be absent from work. On these occasions, you mustcall and report an absence directly to your immediate supervisor as soon as possible, but a minimum of no later than one(1) hour prior to your scheduled starting time on the first day and each subsequent day you are absent. Calling andreporting an absence or tardiness to another team member is not considered satisfactory compliance with this policy.Texting or email notifications are also not acceptable forms of notice. Any team member who is absent for three or moredays in any 30-day period due to illness or injury may be required to submit a doctors release to return to work. However, a submission of a doctors note for a visit does not automatically excuse the absence if not qualified under anapproved leave of absence.

Excessive Absenteeism and TardinessExcessive absenteeism or patterned absences on a recurring basis, regardless of time frame, may result in disciplinaryaction up to and including termination of employment. Excessive absenteeism is defined as exceeding 10 days in arolling 12-month period (or its pro-rated equivalent) or patterned absences, regardless of time frame. If a team member isabsent for three or more consecutively scheduled days or shifts without calling his or her supervisor, FedEx Office willconsider the team member to have voluntarily terminated his or her employment through job abandonment and willprocess the team member's employment termination documentation. Excessive tardiness occurs when you are late morethan three times within a rolling 30-day period or patterned tardiness on a recurring basis, regardless of time frame.Team members who are continually tardy may be disciplined up to and including termination of employment. Regular, on-time attendance is an essential function of our jobs at FedEx Office.

I acknowledge that I have reviewed and understand the attendance and tardiness policy.
