Church Family and Friends,
It is with gratitude that I send my first pastor’s letter to you via the Ross Community Newsletter. Cindy
and I are so appreciative of all the love and kindness that has been shown us during our first month of our
service to you.
I am encouraged every day I wake up and am thankful for your support and care. Please continue to pray for
us and for the church as we undertake a new beginning in all of our lives. This is a transition for us as well as
each of you, thanks for being gracious. Your reception and extension of fellowship has been so generous
there is nothing more that we can say but thanks, we love you.
I am reminded of the words of Solomon in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8: There is a time for everything, and a season
for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to
uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to
laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to
embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a
time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love
and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
Today is our time to serve and minister to our community. We live days of strife in our world whether at
home in the USA or on foreign soil. It is a reminder that the presence of God who is Light and Love keeps us
safe and secure and in fellowship with each other. I’m excited about what God wants to do here at Ross
Community.
In a few weeks we will be sharing the vision that we establish as we believe it is what God wants us to do to
grow our church, our faith and our fellowship. I want to encourage everyone pray, pray and pray and think
about those outside a relationship with Jesus that we can share the message of the Cross with.
It’s an awesome day to serve God, He is an awesome God!
Pastor Larry

So much change is taking place in our world. So much change is taking place in our church. So much change is taking place in each of our lives. At times it can be overwhelming. But Paul, even in his time of imprisonment, sought to give us refuge from the anxiety when he wrote in Philippians 4: 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus During those moments when change sweeps through your life like an overwhelming wave, turn it over to God and “do not be anxious”! Please keep all those in our church dealing with grief, and pain and anxiousness, in your prayers.
Tuesday, September 9th, we will
start our fall monthly meetings in
the church at 10:00AM. All women
are invited. We are going to be
discussing our food at the Craft
Sale and the women’s Christmas
dinner.
We are still collecting old
eyeglasses. Please remember to
bring them to church for a
donation to a third world country
missions group.
Tuesday, August 12th, the UMW women
got together at Symmes Tavern in
Fairfield. We had 22 women at the
dinner. Even though it was a cool
evening, we had a great time.
Our next meeting will be Tuesday,
October 14th at the church in the
morning. Please mark your
calendars and join us.

The editor of the RCUMC newsletter is hard at work. Hi Lord, it's me. We are getting older and things are getting
bad here. Gas prices are too high, no jobs, so much
corruption, food and heating costs too high. We've lost the way.
I know you were taken out of our schools, government and even Christmas,
But Lord I'm asking you to come back and re-bless America.
We really need you! Badly. There are more of us who want you than
those who don't! Thank You Lord, I Love You.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.

NURTURE & MISSIONS

Christ In Action School Bag Picnic proved to be an
exciting day. The Churches in the
Ross Area provided book bags
complete with supplies from
which children could choose their
favorite and get a jump-start on
that first day of school. Eighty
plus families enjoyed games,
crafts, food and God’s love
pouring from the hearts of those
working the event. Thanks to everyone at Ross
Community Church for your contributions of supplies
and time.
Missions continue to
collect items for
Christ’s Food Closet
and distribute boxes
of food supplies
monthly. The Sharing
Closet remains in the smaller facility at the Ross
Administration Building and Nancy requests you hold
on to any donations until she makes a request.
Fall Craft Fair
Saturday, October 11 from 9:00
a.m. to 3:00 p.m. we will again
host the Fall Craft Fair. Spaces
are available for rent and Carol
Farmer has graciously accepted
the task of organizing the event
this year. If you know of anyone
interested in renting a space please have them contact
Carol Farmer or the church office. We will also accept
any craft items you may wish to donate to sell.
The Craft Fair will be Sat. Oct. 11 from 9-3. More information will soon be available. If you know any crafters/vendors who may be interested in a space, please contact Carol Farmer at 513-863-3014 or e-mail at [email protected].

Choir Season is just around the corner. We will begin singing as part of the service in October. The first practice will be held on Wednesday, September 10, from 7-8:30pm. I’m looking forward to getting everybody back together again and I encourage you to
come spend the evening with us if you feel so-called. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask me or any other member of the choir. Also, we will be selling nuts again this year, just in time for Holiday baking, gift giving, and EATING!! More info on the sale will be available later in September.
See you September 10th!
Sally
See you Sunday morning.
I am saving a seat for you.
