Special Education

● The District opened parent respite centers.● Work continues on how to provide more in-person assistance to students

and parents in 6-Young Adults.● Special Education staff continue to meet to develop plans for bringing

additional students into respite or support centers

Summary of Meetings With Buildings

● Lisa Milkereit, CFT President and I met with all the K-5 Elementary Building Administrators and CFT Building Stewards to discuss and brainstorm ideas for returning some students back to in-person learning.

● From our conversations we were able to develop the modified plan presented tonight which includes having Monday as a “Distance Learning” only day allowing teachers and administrators an opportunity to do additional collaboration.

● This would also allow the vast majority of the students to remain with their existing teachers.● We reviewed questions and provided answers around a number of Operational Safety protocols

and will be updating our District document in the coming days.● I appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from our building administrators and CFT leadership

and together we were able to brainstorm a number of solutions.● We will be providing additional updates to building administrators, staff and families over the

coming week as we finalize plans for staffing, transportation, school supplies and schedule issues.

● Since July I have been meeting weekly with CFT and will continue to do so for the remainder of the quarter as we begin planning for both Second Quarter and the Spring 2021 semester.
