Tena Koutou ngā whanau me ngā tamariki o Parerihirau,

Greetings to the families and children of Bledisloe School;

This week it was wonderful to see the Junior Kapa Haka students perform for their whānau and fellow

students. Their performance was the end of many weeks of practice and learning and we are so grateful to

staff and families for their support. Watching this performance yesterday and feeling the aroha that

surrounded the students and was present between parents, grandparents, whānau and staff reminded me

of what a great place Bledisloe School is. We continue to believe that positive relationships based on

respect and understanding will have positive impacts on your child’s school experiences and

achievements. Although we cannot claim to be perfect, far from it some days! We do claim to care deeply

for your children, to try our best everyday to be ‘better than before’ and to be there to listen and act on

your concerns and queries. Please know that you are always welcome to call in to talk with me about any

concerns you may have. As we move into our strategic planning for 2019 it is great to have input from our

families.

My thanks go to our staff who are active in supporting all of the ‘extra’ activities that go to making your

child’s experience of school much wider than just what happens in the classroom. This support does not

happen without some personal sacrifice of time, energy and thought from our teachers and it is important

to acknowledge the willingness with which they do this.

Kind Regards, Carol

Digi Awards

Congratulations to our finalists in the recent

digi-awards competition. Graphic Design;

Elkhan Galapon and Max Gibbs who came

second in the new ‘Coding’ section.

Swimming!

Mr Lister is working hard to

prepare our swimming pool and

changing sheds ready for our

summer season of swimming.

The weather is set to continue to

be warm and so we would

hope to be starting to use the pool towards to end of

November. Look out for a note coming home!

Remember, children are to

bring their togs everyday in a

plastic bag and teachers will

d e c i d e w h e t h e r t h e

temperature of the pool is

warm enough.

Beyond the Bell

A reminder that enrolment forms and an outline

of the holiday programme being provided at

Bledisloe by Carol Della Barca and ‘Beyond the

Bell’ are available in the office.

Chess Tournament

Our players had an exciting day of chess last

week and many of them had 3 or more wins.

Unfortunately we did not place in any of the

age groups. Thanks to Mr Frame for his extra

work in coaching these players. This is a

wonderful extra activity that he provides for

these students.
