The course will benefit the participants in understanding research facets of Criminal Behaviour, Criminology and Victimology through its interdisciplinarity approach with other disciplines like psychology, law, sociology, and social sciences. Each session will be conducted online for one hour thirty minutes with two/three sessions scheduled each day.

Established on 22nd April 2014, Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences is a value-based research institute of O.P. Jindal Global University. It is a member of the prestigious ACUNS (The Academic Council on the United Nation System). The center is dedicated to understanding, developing and applying human process competencies through continuous experimentation, research and learning related to behavioural sciences. JIBS pursues and propagates fundamental research and innovation in understanding human behaviour. It works with top researchers from various disciplines, both

locally and internationally, to address critical issues in human behaviour from a multidisciplinary perspective. JIBS believes in active learning through a participatory approach to deal with academics, planning of individual or community service needs, and high quality research of social psychological, bio-psychological and legal-psychological significance. At JIBS, we aspire to develop the institute into an icon of quality training that meets international standards. We aim to provide leadership in addressing critical issues in human behaviour from multi-disciplinary perspectives.

CCMH was founded in 2017 with an aim to provide excellent education and training as per the international standards to professionally train students and engage in the capacity building of professionals. This center focuses on a preventive approach to promote positive mental health. The main aim is to create a critical workforce groomed to provide services in various settings namely educational institutions, government institutions, primary and tertiary healthcare and policy developing institutes. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the center and the Melbourne Medical School, University of Melbourne, Australia is established. The collaboration will carry forward academic and research work. To meet the interests, center intends to undertake: collaborative research projects, exchange of academic staff and faculty, organizing lectures and symposia and various developmental/training programs in mental health.

The Centre for Criminology and Forensic Studies (CCFS) was formally established in 2020 with the ambition to become the foremost platform in India and in the Global South to foster the interdisciplinarity of applied sciences and law within the criminal justice system. The main focus of the centre is to integrate teaching and research in forensic science, law, criminology and legal psychology and create opportunities for dissemination of scholarship and research to bring forth innovative and futuristic legislation and policy making in negotiating the issues and limitations at various levels of the system. The centre aims to build the training and educational tools that will help facilitate knowledge exchange between forensic experts, legal practitioners and students in the interest of an improved and accurate criminal justice system. Through our research and training initiatives, we intend to impact law and allied sciences by addressing multi-disciplinary lacuna in theory as well as professional practice and promoting knowledge sharing between these fields.

Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev P. Sahni is the Professor and Principal Director of the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (J IBS) , Director for Center for Victimology and Psychological Sciences, Center for Leadership and Change, Center for Community Mental Health, Center for Criminology and Forensic Studies; Member of the Governing Body; and Advisor to the Vice Chancellor at O. P. Jindal Global University. He holds a PhD degree in Psychology and possesses an extensive and rich experience of 32 years in Academia, Industry and Government Sector. His work spans in the areas of criminal

psychology, cognitive and neuropsychology, forensic psychology and policing and law enforcement. He has trained over 32000 Professionals in over 50 countries. He has served and contributed 14 years as a Scientist in the Ministry of Human Resource Development and Sports Authority of India. He has also served as Head- Human Resources at the Jindal Group. He has worked as a Research Scientist at several Universities like University of Houston, Texas; University of Illinois, Chicago to name a few. Dr. Sahni has been a guest faculty since 2017 at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) to teach Criminal Psychology. Dr. Sahni has several awards to his credit, and has recently been nominated as a Member of the Board of Directors of the International Society of Criminology. He is also a UN liaison committee member of World Society of Victimology (WSV). Among his several academic endeavours he has been regularly representing India at United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC – Austria, Doha, Japan) and Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS – South Africa). He has published more than 30 research articles in International and National Indexed Journals, and about 20 book chapters. With 14 Books to his credit, some of the recent ones are Death Penalty (Springer), Internet Infidelity (Springer), Piracy in the Digital Era (Springer), Crime And Criminal Law Perspectives On Global Migration (Har-Anand), Refugee Jurisprudence And Criminal Justice (Har-Anand), and Conflict: The Police and The People (Lexis Nexis)

Dr. Mohita Junnarkar currently working as Associate Professor and Deputy Director at Jindal Institute of Behavioral Sciences, O. P. Jindal Global University. She has completed her Ph.D. in Psychology from IIT Bombay in 2013. She has about 7 years of research experience and 5 years of teaching experience. She has completed post-doctoral fellowship in the area of positive psychology focusing on assessment and validation of psychological scales from IIT Delhi in 2014. Her key teaching areas are applied positive psychology, psychometrics, adolescent development and cognitive psychology and her research

areas are eyewitness testimony, psychometrics, and adolescent development. Currently she in the area of eyewitness testimony she is investigating “how can eyewitness memory accuracy be enhanced and what is difference in neuronal pathways for correct identification and misidentification by eyewitness?” in the field of adolescent development she is seeking answers to “how to identify the early signs of languishing mental health of adolescent at home and in school and how to communicate effectively with adolescents on day-to-day basis so that they flourish?” She has successfully guided 2 PhD research scholars, published about 19 research papers in national and international peer reviewed indexed journals, 5 book chapters and 4 books to her credit. Currently, she is also serving as a reviewer for Journal of the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology.

Ulhas Vinay Gondhali is currently working as a Lecturer at Jindal Institute of Behavioral Sciences, O.P Jindal Global University. He received his Master’s in Forensic Science from Sardar Patel University and Bachelor’s in Biotechnology from Mumbai University. His work experience ranges from teaching to training forensic professionals and has worked with Maharashtra Police, Institute of Forensic Science (Mumbai). He is a strong advocate of nature conservation and is associated with the Forest Department on various activities on wildlife conservation.He has qualified the UGC-NET Lectureship (Forensic

Science) in 2012, and has more than six years of teaching and training experience. He has worked with the Institute of Forensic Science, Maharashtra Police; Jain University, Bangalore; and Mody University, Jaipur. He has been a member of the board of studies and has been pivotal in designing curriculum for graduate, undergraduate, and certificate courses for several universities. He has also trained the Mumbai police in crucial forensic techniques and was a key contributor in establishing a ‘Crime Scene Simulator’ at Maharashtra Police Training Centre, Mumbai. He has experience in guiding multidisciplinary student research projects. His prime research interest is applications of forensic science in wildlife conservation. His ongoing doctoral work is on wildlife forensics and conservation genetics dedicated to the conservation of Black Bucks. He is working on a project on monitoring online illegal wildlife trade, which has the potential to forestall wildlife crimes on the internet.

Prof. Sam Garkawe is a Professor of Law at the OP Jindal Global University, India, and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Law and Justice at Southern Cross University, Australia. He holds Masters of Law degrees from both London University and Sydney University, and has been admitted as an Attorney-at-Law in California. Sam has extensive experience in teaching courses in Victimology, International Law, International Criminal Law, Human Rights and Criminal Law and Procedure. He has published widely in a number of areas

but particularly in the field of victimology, where he has focused on issues such as: the role of victims in international justice mechanisms (for example the International Criminal Court and the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission); the position of victims in adversarial systems of criminal justice; and the desirability of a binding International Convention in support of victims. He is a life member of the World Society of Victimology (WSV), and has served the WSV in various capacities, including its Executive Committee from 2009-2015.

Dr. Beulah Shekhar is currently Emeritus Professor of Criminology, School of Sciences, Arts, Media & Management, Karunya Institute of Technology & Sciences and former Professor and Head of the Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice Sciences. She holds degrees in Womens' Studies, Psychology, Education Management, Human rights, Victimology, Counseling and Law. She is involved in the training of the police & and the Judiciary in the concepts of Victimology, fill the gaps in services to victims of crime in the CJS in India. She has

served as a member of National Consultations in various reforms and evaluations of the legislation and the working of the Criminal Justice Systems. She was invited as an individual expert at the 12th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, in Brazil and part of the Delegation of the World Society of Victimology in the Crime Commission at Vienna in May 2011 and the UN meeting at San Jose, Costa Rica in February 2014. She was awarded the prestigious Indo-Hungarian fellowship in 2010, a visiting researcher at the University of Montreal in 2011, recipient of the Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship 2013- 2014, the recipient of the Fulbright Fellowship 2014-2015 and was at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, New York 2014-15.

Mr. Vipin Vijay Nair is currently working as a Lecturer and an In-service doctoral scholar at Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences, O.P Jindal Global University. He is associate educator with Association of Certified Fraud Examiner and Volunteer Educator at Professors without Border. He received his Master's in Criminology from LNJN National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Sciences, GGSIPU, where he was awarded the University Silver medal for his academic and research vigour. He has qualified UGC-NET lectureship (Criminology) in 2016 and F-PACT in

2019. He was invited as a resource person at two-day National workshop on “Career Advancement in Criminology”. He has been awarded the silver medal for Best Scientific Research paper at the 38th National Conference of Indian Society of Criminology in 2015.

Nair has completed many academic and individual research projects and is actively pursuing research in the field of victimology and criminology, with active involvement in the Centre of Victimology and Psychological Studies and Centre for Criminology and Forensic Studies at Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences, JGU as Assistant Director. He is dedicated in contributing inter-disciplinary work internationally in the field of victimology and criminology by working on articles, essays, presentations, and research papers.

Ms. Poulomi Bhadra Assistant Professor, JIBS & Assistant Director, CCFS

Ms. Poulomi Bhadra is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Director at the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS), and also a Research Fellow at the Centre for India China Studies (CICS). She also founded the Centre for Criminology and Forensic Studies (CCFS) at JIBS in January 2020, in recognition of a need to incorporate scientific and legal education. She is currently working on editing a book on Criminal Psychology for Springer Nature. Prior to joining JGU, she has worked with the Natural History Museum, London and the Metropolitan Police on

research in forensic entomology, during and after the completion of her Master's degree at King's College London. She is presently a member of the South Asian Society of Victimology and Criminology, the International Society of Criminology and an Associate Member of the Chartered Society of Forensic Science, UK.
