Remote Learning and Frog Guide for Parents
To access our frog site, you will need to visit our website at www.juniorhighacademy.org.uk/ and
scroll down to the bottom of the page, where you will find the frog VLE login button. Alternatively
you can access the frog login page directly at https://vlej.ga.newcastle.sch.uk
Your child’s log in for Frog is the same as the username and password they use at school. If a
password needs to be reset, don’t use the ‘forgot password button on the log in page, instead email
[email protected] directly.

Choose the appropriate year group.
Click on home

On your child’s first day of absence:
In here you will find a range of work that your child can complete on their first day of
absence. They may wish to follow the timetable on the home learning page to help them
structure their day.

If your child is absent for more than one day: If your child is absent for more than one day, from their second day of absence until they
return to school their work will be assigned to them directly and they will no longer need to
use the work waiting room. They can then access their assignments on frog in the following
way:

quick launch
button (a square
made up of nine
dots)
Click on the
assignments
icon

Your child’s assignments will then appear in a list.
Any
resources/worksheets
needed for the lesson
will appear as a light
blue bar at the top of
the assignment.
Clicking the bar will
allow your child to
open these resources.
There will be a video
where a teacher from
the school will
provide the main
learning for the
lesson.
If work needs to be
uploaded for this
lesson, the file drop
below the video will
allow this to be done.

Uploading work to hand it in: Uploading work is done via the file drop, which will appear below the video in the assignment.
To use the file drop, first make sure that the work has been saved, then:
Click on the
upload button
Click the choose
files button

Find the work that needs to be uploaded and either double click it or click ir once, then click
open:
When you see
the green bar
and green circle
with a tick in,
click done.

Complete the
self-
evaluation if
required,
then click
hand in
