rDAC – The intelligent technology behind the ConnectedProduction Solution

As part of the ConnectedProduction solution, our remote data acquisition controllers (rDAC) are the intelligent assets that collect and distribute data from the wellhead to wherever it is needed. From the control room to the boardroom to even the break room - on site or miles away - these data acquisition controllers are wireless, long-range, and multi-frequency, able to withstand the harsh oil and gas production environments.

Rockwell Automation Solutions

Wireless Transmitters Wireless transmitters are battery-powered, long-range,

low-cost and multi-frequency intelligent wireless sensors.

Compatible with proprietary point-to-multipoint WMP

gateways and RTU devices, these components work

together to offer greater than 99.9% wireless data

reliability. This network platform is specifically designed

for low-power applications such as pressure and

temperature monitoring of remote wells.

GatewaysAggregates packets of data from a variety of sources,

connecting different networks using different

base protocols.

Intelligent RTUsPower conserving Ethernet-enabled remote terminal

units (RTUs) feature expansive memory and hardened

construction for use in remote locations with harsh

environments and extreme temperature ranges, and Class 1,

Division 2 or Zone 2 classified locations. Customizable for

various applications and roles, they can be integrated with

third-party equipment to help provide real-time data.

Low Power RTUsFor sites off the electrical grid, wireless battery powered

RTUs fit in remote locations and can be powered by

replaceable batteries or recharged by solar panels or

wind turbine replaceable or generator. Configurable

sleep and transmit intervals offer long battery life,

typically eliminating the need for a solar power system.

iXC2 is a site-level controller featuring IEC 61131 programming with ISaGRAF Workbench, two Ethernet ports with embedded webserver and gateway function for up to 100 rDAC wireless transmitters or wireless RTUs.

Wireless, long-range, multi-frequency, spread spectrum data acquisition features plug-and-play radio module for remote telemetry applications, and one 10/100Mbps Ethernet port.

Battery-powered, long-range, and multi-frequency flexible I/O transmitter and is a low cost data acquisition RTU, ideally suited for monitoring and control in hazardous environments. Provides secure and reliable wireless communication and easily installed with minimal deployment and commissioning.

Wireless repeater that extends the range of wireless transmitters and RTUs. Using two radio modems – one for the gateway and one for the sensors – this can improve the range, reliability, and scalability of the network. This license-free 900MHz and 2.4GHz band can be used worldwide with no site licenses, monthly leased lines, or wireless service fees.
