Calibrating the CompassItisrecommendedtocalibratethecompassinthefollowingsituationswhenflyingoutdoors:

1. Flyingatalocationfurtherthan31miles(50km)awayfromthelocationtheaircraftwaslastflown.2. Theaircrafthasnotbeenflownformorethan30days.3. AcompassinterferencewarningappearsinDJIFlyand/ortheaircraftstatusindicatorblinksredand

yellowalternatively.

DONOTcalibratethecompassinlocationswheremagneticinterferencemayoccursuchasclosetomagnetitedepositsorlargemetallicstructuressuchasparkingstructures,steelreinforcedbasements,bridges,cars,orscaffolding. DONOTcarryobjectsthatcontainferromagneticmaterialssuchasmobilephonesneartheaircraftduringcalibration. Itisnotnecessarytocalibratethecompasswhenflyingindoors.

Calibration ProcedureChooseanopenareatocarryoutthefollowingprocedure.

1. TapSystemSettingsinDJIFly,selectSafety,thenCalibrate,andfollowtheon-screeninstructions.Theaircraftstatusindicatorissolidyellow,indicatingcalibrationhasstarted.

2. Holdtheaircrafthorizontallyandrotateit360°.Theaircraftstatusindicatorwillturnsolidgreen.3. Holdtheaircraftverticallyandrotateit360°aroundaverticalaxis.4. Iftheaircraftstatusindicatorblinksred,thecalibrationhasfailed.Changeyourlocationandtrythe

calibrationprocedureagain.

Aircrafttakeoffweightincludesbattery,propellers,andamicroSDcard. Aircraftregistrationisrequiredinsomecountriesandregions.Checklocalrulesandregulationsbeforeuse. ThetransmissiondistanceincommonscenarioslistedabovearethetypicalvaluestestedinanFCCareawithoutobstruction. Thesespecificationshavebeendeterminedthroughtestsconductedwiththelatestfirmware.Firmwareupdatescanenhanceperformance.Itishighlyrecommendedtoupdatetothelatestfirmware.

Iftheaircraftstatusindicatorblinksredandyellowalternativelyaftercalibrationiscompleted,thisindicatesthatthecurrentlocationisnotsuitableforflyingtheaircraftduetothelevelofmagneticinterference.Chooseanewlocation.

ApromptwillappearinDJIFlyifcompasscalibrationisrequiredbeforetakeoff. Theaircraftcantakeoffimmediatelyoncecalibrationiscomplete.Ifyouwaitmorethanthreeminutestotakeoffaftercalibration,youmayneedtocalibrateagain.

Updating FirmwareWhenyouconnect theaircraftor remotecontroller toDJIFly,youwillbenotified ifanew firmwareupdate isavailable.Toupdate,connect themobiledevice to the internetand follow theon-screeninstructions.Note that the firmwarecannotbeupdated if the remotecontroller isnot linked to theaircraft.

Makesuretofollowallthestepstoupdatefirmware.Otherwise,theupdatemayfail.Theaircraftwillpoweroffautomaticallyafterthefirmwareupdateiscomplete. Thefirmwareupdatewill takeapprox.10minutes. It isnormal for thegimbal togo limp,aircraftstatusindicatorstoblink,andtheaircrafttoreboot.Waitpatientlyuntiltheupdateiscomplete.Beforeperforminganupdate,makesuretheIntelligentFlightBatteryisatleast15%chargedandtheremotecontrollerisatleast20%charged.The remotecontrollermaybecomeunlinked fromtheaircraftafterupdating.Relink the remotecontrollerandaircraft.Notethattheupdatemayresetvariousmaincontrollersettings,suchastheRTHaltitudeandthemaximumflightdistance,todefaultsettings.Beforeupdating,takenoteofyourpreferredDJIFlysettingsandreadjustthemaftertheupdate.
