9 Choirs of Angels

The 1st Triad of Angels contemplate and adore God directly. They consist of the Sera-phim, Cherubim, and Thrones. Seraphim by name, mean the burning ones. They are Attendants at the Throne of God and sing, “Holy Holy Holy is the Lord of Hosts!” Cheru-bim, by name, mean the fullness of wisdom. They contemplate God’s providence and

are assigned to protect special places. Thrones represent the steadfastness of the love of God. They contemplate God’s power and judgment, and they appear as the most unlike others when revealed. The 2nd Triad of Angels fulfill God’s plan in the universe. Dominions lord over the lower choirs of hu-manity. They take illumination from the higher hierarchies and govern the universe. Virtues run the operation of movement in the universe. They are often associated with planets, elements, seasons, and nature. Powers assist in governing the natural order. They are warrior angels tasked with fighting the war against the demonic choirs. The 3rd Triad of Angels interact and serve humanity closely. Principalities are assigned to care and guard communities, kingdoms, states, and parishes. They are associated with transitions in power. Archangels are assigned to communicate and carry out God’s important plans for man. Michael, Gabriel, and Rafael are the only 3 names we know. Angels are closest to the material world and hu-manity The lowest choir is where we get the majority of our personal guardian angels.

REMINDER…..Contact Janet Pechanec (785) 387-2415 if you’d like to be a member of our Prayer Chain and Martina Axman (620) 586-3281 with any specific intentions for which you’d like us to pray.

to destroy unborn life.

COUNTERS: Linda Bieker & Margaret Evers STEWARDSHIP MESSAGE FOR OCT. 20th:

Today’s theme is perseverance—Moses keeping his hands up-raised throughout the battle, Paul urging Timothy to stay with the task of preaching and teaching, and the widow appealing for the corrupt judge. To be faithful stewards of God’s gifts, we too, must persevere in the roles to which we are called.

MOVIES WITH A MESSAGE: We’ll be showing “Denial” on

Tuesday, Oct. 22nd at 6:15pm at the Motherhouse of the Dominican

Sisters of Peace.

WORD OF LIFE MESSAGE: “This year’s theme, Christ Our

Hope: In Every Season of Life, is particularly suited for the times in

which we live. The attacks against human life seem to grow more nu-

merous and callous by the day. Despite these challenges, we know that

Christ has conquered sin and death once and for all. Through our Chris-

tian hope in the Resurrection, we are given the grace to persevere in

faith. Our sacrifices on behalf of the Gospel of Life can contribute to the

redemption of this current culture of death.”

A PRAYER FOR THE FAMILY

Jesus, our most loving redeemer,

You came to enlighten the world

With your teaching and example.

You willed to spend the greater part of Your life

In humble obedience to Mary and Joseph

In this way, You sanctified that family,

which was to be an example for all Christian families.

Be pleased to protect, guard and keep it in holy fear, in peace,

and in the harmony of Christian charity.

By conforming ourselves to the Divine model of Your family. Amen
