Introduction

The purpose of this document is to disclose the new features, enhancements, and benefits

within the ON!Track V2.3 software release.

1 Release Highlights

The V2.3 release brings improvements to speed, performance, and search functionalities in

order to enhance the usability of the ON!Track application Also a significant improvement

implemented is the ability to now add notes to an asset, which allows for more details to be

captured on a specific asset. Restocking consumables has become easier with the ability to

select and restock multiple consumable types within one transaction. And lastly, upcoming

maintenance is now announced ahead of time directly within the ON!Track application so

that all users are able to better plan around downtime. The rest of this document will provide

a more in-depth overview of what is included within the V2.3 software release.

2 Web

2.1 New Features

2.1.1 Maintenance announcements

Planned maintenance will be announced ahead of time and shows up after the initial login as

a removable banner. If already logged in when the maintenance window is set, the an-

nouncement banner shows up within two hours or until the page is refreshed.

To remove the banner for the duration of a login session, click on the x. To remove the an-

nouncement banner permanently until a new one is set, click on “do not show this message

again”. Once the banner is removed, the maintenance window announcement can always be

found on the support & info page until the maintenance is complete.

2.1.2 Release information accessible via ON!Track

The previous “support page”, renamed to “support & info page”, shows a permanent link to

the latest release information hosted on Hilti Online. Depending on the customer country, the

link will redirect the user to the appropriate local Hilti Online page.

2.1.3 Company settings – Import and export

The company settings page has been improved to provide information about the upload limi-

tations as well as a display of the upload history which provides more transparency and

traceability following uploads. To ensure that the most current upload is shown, click on “re-

fresh” in the top right corner of the upload history.

Limitation: The maximum amount of employees, locations, manufacturers, asset groups per

upload is 10,000 with a maximum file size of 10MB

2.2 Enhancements

2.2.1 Grid functionality

Column width in the grid can be defined by a user during a login session and will be saved

for the next login. Additionally, the grid has some limitations implemented to improve the

speed and performance of different grid views.

Limitation: A maximum of 20 columns can be displayed in the grid at one time.

Below 2000 rows all functionality is available. Once the amount of asset data being loaded is

between 2000 and 5000 assets, the option of “select all” is disabled and a message will ap-

pear saying “you cannot select more than 2000 assets at one time”.

Limitation: If more than 2000 assets are selected at one time, “delete” and “confirm delivery”

options are not possible.

Once the amount of asset data being loaded is above 5000 assets, a message will appear

saying “You are displaying a lot of data. Filter, sort, and select-all are now disabled. Use the

search to reduce the number of assets to be displayed”.

Once data is loaded from 5000 assets or above the grid is shown with pages displaying 500

assets on each page.

Limitation: When assets are displayed by pages of 500, the search is limited to only look

within the following columns:

1. Scan code

2. Alternate code

3. Friendly Name

4. Description

5. Manufacturer

6. Model

7. Asset Group

8. Ownership Category(Managed As)

2.2.2 Column chooser

The appearance of the column chooser has changed to improve usability. Columns can be

added or removed by checking or unchecking the desired column (1). The location of the

columns shown can be rearranged by dragging and dropping them to the desired location

(2).

2.2.3 Fleet details

The loan tool claim and theft insurance fields do not appear in the asset details if they are

irrelevant for a specific asset. If relevant, “yes” is shown in the “loan tool claim” and “theft

insurance” field.

2.2.4 Restocking multiple consumables

Multiple consumables can now be selected and restocked within a single restock transaction.

Once the desired consumables are selected for restock, enter the quantity for each consum-

able selected.

2.2.5 Search field for locations

A search field has been added on the locations page to provide a quicker means of finding a

desired location. Type a location name in the search field and push enter on the keyboard.

Click on the x in the search field or refresh the page to cancel the search result.

2.2.6 Planned downtime page

The text was changed on the planned system downtime page and is now shown in the re-

spective language based on browser settings. The planned downtime page is shown for

maintenance that has been announced beforehand on the web and mobile application.

2.2.7 Unplanned downtime page

There is now a clear difference between the message shown on planned and unplanned

system downtime pages. The unplanned downtime page is shown for the rare cases when

an ON!Track unavailability could not be announced beforehand.

2.2.8 Alerts for retired assets

Service warnings and alerts are no longer sent for retired assets because it is not applicable

for assets which have been retired.

2.2.9 Performance

Performance improvements can be experienced in the improved transfer speed as well as in

other transactions within the application.

Limitation: the maximum number of assets allowed per transfer transaction is 500.

2.3 Removals

2.3.1 Removal of columns from the grid

The following columns were removed from the grid to improve the speed of ON!Track:

3 Mobile

3.1 New Features

3.1.1 Maintenance announcement

Planned maintenance will be announced ahead of time to notify users of upcoming planned

maintenance which allows for better planning of activities around the systems availability.

Once a maintenance window is scheduled, the “overview” text on the home page will change

to “info”. Tap on “info” to see the planned maintenance announcement.

In addition, it is always possible to navigate to the maintenance announcement through the

home screen menu.

3.1.2 Additional information in the quantity dialog

When transferring or checking inventory of consumables and commodities, the manufacturer

name, model, and description is shown if available and when online. For consumables the

unit of the asset will also be shown.

3.1.3 Notes field when adding an asset

It is now possible to enter a note when adding a new asset in order to insert additional details

or instructions required for a specific asset.

3.1.4 Friendly name when adding an asset

It is now possible to enter a friendly name when adding a new asset.

3.1.5 Add asset group when adding an asset

It is now possible to create an asset group when adding an asset.

On the upper right corner of asset groups, tap on the plus icon to add a new asset group.

3.2 Enhancements

3.2.1 Barcode scan focus box

When scanning a barcode there is now a defined area indicated with a red box where the

scanning is taking place. The benefit is to eliminate the challenge of assessing where bar-

code scanning is done and to decrease the time needed to scan a barcode.

3.2.2 Fleet details

3.2.3 Search functionality

Friendly name, manufacturer, and asset notes are now searchable in order to find a specific

asset. Additionally, it is now possible to search assets using several words.

3.2.4 Performance

Transfer and synchronization speed has been improved which leads to an overall better per-

formance.

Limitation: To improve the transfer speed, a maximum of 500 assets can be transferred at

one time.
