• Increased number of issues raised with
Australian Sailing over the last few years.
• Member Protection Information Officers
(MPIO’s) – quite often free training, part
online, part workshop.
• Ensure policies are up to date and well
understood by staff and committee
members.
• Australian Sailing has templates to help.
• Tough topic, but better to be prepared then
reactive.

• Member complaints received by Australian Sailing has increased over the last few
years.
• Some quite serious with regards to poor governance and management.
• Policies dictate these need to be dealt with at the lowest level first (Club).
• Clubs do not often have adequate Codes of Conduct, member discipline policies and
procedures or suitable process outlined in the clubs Constitution

legislation.
