Future Leaders Forum 2017

The Forum aims to provide students with practical perspectives on leadership, drawing on the experiences of leaders from a variety of fields. Many students will spend a large part of their working life in business or government, and are likely to achieve a position where they will be expected to play a leadership role. This may take some time, or it may happen straight away. This year, our outstanding group of invited speakers will talk about their own path to leadership, perspectives on leadership and important issues for today’s leaders.

By showing ways in which their knowledge of the world of commerce can be applied outside the classroom, the Future Leaders Forum contributes to students’ understanding of the importance and relevance of commerce studies. The event provides a range of rich opportunities for meeting and networking with business and community leaders and other high-achieving students.

The Faculty of Business and Economics’ annual Future Leaders Forum is an event dedicated to enriching the learning experiences of 120 of our most talented students.

ABIGAIL FORSYTH

Abigail’s entrepreneurial spirit was kick started as an eleven-year-old, selling sandwiches in the business park where her father worked. Following a successful career as a solicitor, that spirit resurfaced when Abigail and her brother Jamie started a cafe chain in Melbourne. Alarmed by the amount of disposable packaging being wasted, Abigail developed KeepCup, the world’s first barista-standard reusable cup.

Today, more than 5 million people around the world are KeepCup converts, helping to divert more than 3.5 billion disposable cups from landfill. Abigail has opened offices and warehouses in London (UK) and Los Angeles (USA) to service growing consumer demand in over 65 countries around the world, but the business has stayed loyal to its roots. KeepCup’s HQ is located in the Melbourne suburb of Fitzroy, where Abigail lives with her husband and children.

Rosh has since completed a Masters of Entrepreneurship at the Wade Institute in 2016 on scholarship where he has been working with a team to bootstrap the concept again as TheBabyClub on a global scale and pursue other opportunities.
