The term ‘borderless education’ encompasses a wide range of activities, from online training, off-shore campuses, technology-assisted teaching, and franchising of curricula. Since many of these activities emanate from the new providers of post-secondary education and programs, often for-profit institutions or commercial arms of non-profit universities, borderless education segues into ‘the business of education’. That brings the activities of organisationssupporting e-learning, whether vendors of learning management platforms or publishers of digital material, into our purview as well.

Franchising of Curricula

The term ‘borderless education’ encompasses a wide range of activities, from online training, off-shore campuses, technology-assisted teaching, and franchising of curricula.

Observations about “Borderless Education”

Online and borderless education requires a heavy investment in money and in systems that can accommodate student learning needs for support, contextualisation, and technical assistance.

The term ‘borderless education’ encompasses a wide range of activities, from online training, off-shore campuses, technology-assisted teaching, and franchising of curricula.

Definition of “Borderless Education”

There is a real tension between the time frames of traditional universities and those of the business world, with universities measuring their reputational brand over generations and the lifetime of their graduates, and businesses measuring their return on investment over a tax year. http://www.europaeum.org/feu/?q=node/112

The term ‘borderless education’ encompasses a wide range of activities, from online training, off-shore campuses, technology-assisted teaching, and franchising of curricula.

Definition of “Borderless Education”

Traditional university mores espouse slow, careful, and inclusive deliberations – curriculum decisions are not made at ‘net speed’.
