Scammers pretend to be from a government department or agency - or from a business such as an energy provider - to sound legitimate. Meet the ‘Pocket Rocket’ Winners

If you’ve had your home loan for more than 5 years, chances arethat your circumstances and lifestyle will have changed.

If this sounds like you, grab a note book, a coffee and take the timeto look at your current and future circumstances - such as a babyon the way, kids moving out, redundancy or retirement.

These lifestyle changes will help you create a ‘wish list’ for yourhome loan. Items like ‘more flexibility’ or ‘more certainty’ will helpdetermine the features and benefits you’re looking for.

Locate your current home loan contract or ask your financial institution for another copy.

You’ll also need to find your most recent statement and look at things such as:

The interest rate you’re currently paying

Type of loan - fixed or variable, interest only, split rate loan

Fees and charges such as annual fees, redraw fees or

early repayment fees, etc.

Whether you have features such as an offset account, redraw

facility or any restrictions?

After this, record the details of your loan and then list any changesyou’d like for your new home loan.

What’s a comparison rate?

The comparison rate is a tool that you can use to help identify thetrue cost of the loan. It takes into account the interest rate, as wellas upfront and ongoing fees and charges relating to the loan. Lowfees can really make the difference to your home loan.

Choosing the right home loan - we can help!

With so many loan types to choose from, it’s no wonder people getconfused. Central West Credit Union has a variety of home loanproducts to suit different needs and the professional staff to assistwith all your questions.
