RECENT PROJECTS

CAROUSEL LOADING ANALYSIS

Red Marine has recently completed a number of studies reviewing the loading and unloading of umbilical cables into below deck carousels. Combining "Orcaflex' modelling with first hand operational experience, our engineers have provided capacity assessments and recommended handling procedures for non-standard products.

MOBILISATION ENGINEERING & SUPPORT

Recent projects have included an operational review of a trenching system deck layout and the design of seafastenings for an installation spread. This required vessel deck analysis to allow the successful mobilisation of a 300t Reel Deployment System, with all design work being approved by DNV.

‘TRIPLE PRODUCT’ DEPLOYMENT SYSTEM

The engineering of an installation solution for Technip to allow the simultaneous deployment of a bundle of three products. Red Marine’s scope included deck layout development and the design of a 'Triple' chute, associated deck diverters and A & R equipment.

825t CAPACITY LOAD TEST SYSTEM

Red Marine has delivered its latest VLS Load TestSystem (LTS) to SapuraKencana for load testing itsPipelay vessels on charter to Petrobras.

The LTS can be rigged in different configurations to allow load testing of all key VLS system elements with a single tool. The system was first used to test Sapura Diamante pipelay equipment in May 2014 and subsequently tested Sapura Topázio equipment in August 2014. It will be used on 4 further vessels currently being built for SapuraKencana.

RED MARINE SUBSEA SOLUTIONS

Red Marine engineers have extensive experience of the design, manufacture and installation of subsea hardware including trees, manifolds, risers and flowlines. Drawing on this knowledge, we have built a track record of delivering effective subsea tooling and hardware solutions for subsea developments.

RECENT PROJECTS

WIRELINE CANOPY TOOL

The design and build of 2 x Canopy Tools to allow a subsea tree canopy to be deployed or recovered via a wireline operation (as opposed to using a drill string). Once deployed, the tool is operated by a ROV – it features integral grab rails to allow manoeuvring and a ROV operated locking feature. The design was appraised and certified by Lloyds register to API 6A, 17D and DNV 2.7-3 and is now in operation in the North Sea.

SUBSEA PROTECTION STRUCTURE

Red Marine has an existing track record in the development of protective structures for subsea hardware. Its most recent project was the fast track supply of a protective canopy for an existing subsea tree to provide protection against dropped objects. The 6 tonne structure was installed on a tree in the North Sea late this summer.

UMBILICAL & RISER CLAMPS

Design of a range of subsea clamps to allow riser recovery / installation as part of a replacement campaign. The project scope included design of both diver installed and ROV operated clamps to handle products from 4” to 8”. The clamps were supplied in conjunction with a suite of custom installation aids including pull-in heads, tool basket, an I-tube deployment A-frame and bend restrictor clamps.

RED MARINE TESTING WITH INTELLIGENCE

With its own test facility and proven engineering capability, Red Marine works closely with its clients to develop and deliver bespoke test programmes to qualify both subsea hardware and offshore operations. This includes the fast track design and manufacture of first of kind test rigs, planning and execution of test programmes and use of its in-house engineering resources to provide detailed analysis of results.

RECENT PROJECTS

ENGINEERED WITH SPIRIT

SCR HANDLING SYSTEM DELIVERED

LARGE SCALE PIPELINE FATIGUE RIG

Red Marine recently delivered its largest test rig to date - a 20t rotational fatigue rig designed to evaluate the life of subsea pipelines by simulating in-service motions on 11m long pipe samples. The turnkey project was completed over a 6 month period and included concept development, detail design, manufacture, installation ad commissioning of the rig at the client's facility.

MID SCALE PIPELINE FATIGUE RIG

Another rotational fatigue rig, but designed to allow fatigue testing of 1m pipeline samples in controlled environmental conditions ranging from 30°C to -20°C. An extensive programme of testing has been completed at our test facility by Red Marine personnel.

SHUTTLE VALVE TESTING

A turnkey project to develop a suitable test fixture and complete qualification testing of a subsea shuttle valve against ISO 13628-6:2006, API 6A, and SAE AS-4059 in environmental conditions from -6°C to 121°C.

TENSIONER PAD TESTING

Recent projects have included test programmes to determine the performance of a power cable while subjected to crush and tensile loads. Red Marine’s test rigs have been upgraded in 2014 to handle samples up to 3m in length and to apply crush and tensile loads up to a maximum of 496kN in 2 track mode.
