Subject : Panchakarma: Ayurvedic Detoxification This unit introduces students to the principles and practices of panchakarma and the preparatory techniques for extracting deeply-held toxins in the body. II. Skills and Competence from this unit Students completing this module will be able to 1. demonstrate an understanding of basic concepts such as shodhana, shamana, purvakarma, paschatkarma, snehana, swedana, and methodologies of Pradhanakarmas into daily life 2. integrate Panchakarma concepts and practices into any existing clinical practice 3. competently perform basic Ayurveda therapies for preventive and life enhancement purposes 4. assist an existing practitioner to perform Ayurveda therapies III. Time: Recommended Minimum of 60 hours of study 1. Suggested Classroom Instruction (in-class including virtual contact hours): 15-20 Hours 2. Practical hours/laboratory: 10-20 Hours 3. Independent projects and assignments a. 10-15 hours e-learning videos/audios b. 10-12 hours of self-care/homework assignments IV. Subject and Topics to be covered A. Panchakarma- overview 1.
