We were delighted to receive the news in September that our Career College in Hospitality, Food and Enterprise for 14-19 year olds, has been given approval by the Career Colleges Trust. This exciting venture is backed by a high profile team of industry advisors from organisations such as the Hilton, Hyatt, Dorchester Group and Springboard UK.

As London’s first Career College and one of only three in the country, we opened in September 2014 and welcomed our first cohort of young students, all eager to make their mark in the industry. Career Colleges are a new concept in employer led education. The curriculum is designed and informed by industry and students are able to combine high quality vocational study with core academic subjects and work experience.

Students are already working in the latest training kitchens and from January 2015 will be running their own contemporary restaurant BR6 in Orpington’s Walnut Square development, under the patronage of celebrity chefs Chris and James Tanner.

See the courses on offer on page 69 and look out for ourtaster sessions running next year.

Fees ExplainedAged 14 - 18?

Courses are free

Look out for the grey 24+ Advance Learning Loan icon

Tuition is free on the majority of courses for all UK or EU students who are aged 14-18 at the start date of their course.

Aged 19 and over?If you are aged 19 or over at the start date of the course you may be eligible for fee remission (that often means that you won’t pay tuition fees) depending on the course you are on, and assessment of your individual circumstances.

Aged 24 and over?If you are aged 24 or over and a UK resident at the start of a Level 3 or 4 course, you will be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan to pay some or all of the tuition costs. If the loan is agreed, no payment is required upfront and you won’t have to make repayments until you are earning £21k a year. For courses that are at Levels 1 and 2, see the above section for ages 19+.

ADDITIONAL CHARGESFor some of our courses you will be expected to purchase equipment, or pay for registration with an awarding body. We try to make all of this

clear on our website, so please read the course information carefully.

International StudentsTuition fees for non-UK/EU nationals are payable depending on your status in the UK. Our experienced staff are able to assess each individual case at, or before, enrolment.
