These instructions are for input of Reading Level and AR Reading Level (0.1 to 9.9) and also for AR Test Percentage (0% to 100%) in your grade book to print out on trimester term report cards (and progress reports, too, if you wish)

To input the AR Reading Level, you will go to your class labeled

AR(A) AR Level

and to input AR Reading Test Percentage, you will go to your class labeled

ARP(A) AR Test %

To input the Reading Level, you will go to your class labeled

RD(A) Reading Level

These instructions will be separated into the 2 different classes.

You will input the AR Level through the student term grade score inspector. To open the score inspector, highlight the 1st student on the list and do one of the following:

1. From the menu bar at top, select Tools / Score Inspector OR

2. Double click on the Final Grade beside the student name This is the score

inspector

Follow these steps

1. Check the manual override box

2. In the percent box, put the student’s AR Reading Level. This is what will print on the report cards.

3. You may leave the grade box alone. This will not print anywhere.

4. You may put a comment in the comment box if you wish. As of right now, it is not printing anywhere, but this might change in the future.

5. Click on the down arrow to get to the next student, and follow steps 1-4 until finished.

6. On last student, click Close

Click Save – This will save your Term grade for printing on report cards.

Only the level number will print on the report card, not the letter grade.

If your final grade rounds up or down, you need to go to Tools / Preferences and change the decimal places to 1*****

***** Changing the decimal place in preferences will affect ALL your classes, but should not be a problem.

DO NOT FORGET!: This input needs to be done for 2 classes:

AR Level and

Reading Level

If your final grade rounds up or down, you need to go to Tools / Preferences and change the decimal places to 1*****

***** Changing the decimal place in preferences will affect ALL your classes, but should not be a problem.

There are 2 ways to do the AR Test percentage.

1. Do a manual override as was instructed for the AR Level OR

2. Create a Category called AR (Tools/Categories) with 100 points possible and a Score Type of Percentage

Page 10: Reading level and AR Level and AR Test Percentage Instructions 2012-2013 School Year - Trimesters

3. Create an Assignment Named: AR Test % T1, Category: AR, Due Date: sometime in T1

Click Save

Page 11: Reading level and AR Level and AR Test Percentage Instructions 2012-2013 School Year - Trimesters

4. Put the test score average in as the assignment score, click save and the test score average becomes the T1 term grade.

Don’t worry about the Letter grade because the only thing that will print on the report card is the percent.

For T2 and T3 you would just repeat the assignment but change the term to reflect the current term and the due date has to fall inside that term.

The percentage input is up to you whichever you feel is easiest for you, but if you use the Manual Override, you must put in a percentage or the report card will print a zero (0%).
