Criminal Justice ProgramStep into a Criminal

Justice Law Enforcement

class and you will feel like

you have been in the field

for years. All instructors

are required to have real-

world law enforcement

experience, so that means

real learning for you. You

will gain insight from

current and retired state

troopers, judges, district

attorneys, FBI agents,

chiefs of police and

others. In some instances,

graduates will be ready

for the workplace, and

others will go on to earn a

bachelor’s degree.

Respiratory Care ProgramHealthcare is one of

the fastest-growing

industries in the country

and respiratory care is

in demand in our area

and nationwide. RACC’s

Respiratory Care Program

is the only one if its kind

within Berks, Schuylkill,

Lehigh, Northampton

and western Montgomery

counties. Students obtain

clinical experience from

12 hospitals in the

Reading and Allentown

areas. Graduates work in

hospitals, rehabilitation

and skilled nursing homes,

doctors’ offices, home

health care companies and

educational institutions.

The demand for Respiratory

Therapists will be almost

twice that of other

occupations over the next

10 years (www.aarc.org).

The Right CHOICERACC has all of the right programs to meet your needs. Because we keep

up with projected job trends, we are able to offer programs to support

those demands. Our students learn hands-on and come out on top after

graduation. The Criminal Justice and Respiratory Care programs are just

two examples of the many career-oriented paths RACC offers.

College life is beyond what

you learn in the classroom.

It includes the friends you

meet and the experiences

you share that you will

value for a lifetime. At

Reading Area Community

College, we foster those

ideas and encourage you

to interact with other

students, faculty and

staff through a variety of

options.

We are proud to offer

organizations and

activities designed to

appeal to students of all

ages and backgrounds.

Apply for the Leadership

Program, which provides

opportunities to learn

and build leadership skills

through two weekend

retreats and additional

educational seminars

throughout the year. If

writing, photography

or art is your passion,

you can submit to the

Front Street Journal

student newspaper or the

scholarly journal, Legacy.

Advocate for issues that

are important to students

by joining the Student

Government Association

or help plan events

through the Student

Activities Board.

Annual campus events

include the popular

International Festival,

where you can learn

about different cultures

and taste their cuisines,

and RACC Idols, where

you can showcase your

singing, dancing or any

other talents you may

have.

Our students are also

passionate about giving

back to the community

and have found a fun

way to raise money for

those in need. The RACCy

Olympics is our very own

event that allows teams

to participate in wacky

games while raising

money for a designated

charity.

Students who are involved

outside of the classroom

are more successful in

the classroom, so make

the most of your time on

campus and enjoy the

total RACC experience!

It is an exciting time to be a part of Reading Area

Community College. The campus is growing along with

the City and County. There are countless opportunities

for learning, recreation, entertainment and relaxation—

all within walking distance of the campus!

What else is in store for the future at RACC? You can

always get involved in new activities, programs and

events. Students’ insights and opinions are valued, so we

encourage you to share your vision.

Look to RACC for any of your education goals. Whether

you choose a career or transfer program or take classes

for personal enrichment, you can be confident that you

made The Right Choice.
