The Idea. . .In the fall of 2008, we had an idea to create a digital learning space:
Accessible to StudentsAccessible to Young Adult AuthorsAccessible to Teaching Professionals.
The idea became what is now RAW INK Online

In the fall of 2009, we took the RAW INK Online Concept
and Created CLUB (Collaborative Learning Utilizing Buddies) with a 5th grade classroom on the Silver Creek campus.
In the winter of 2009, we hosted our first RAW INK sponsored poetry reading in cooperation with our local IndieBound bookseller, Destinations Booksellers.
Working on plans for a Community Shared book with the Local Community Foundation of Southern Indiana hosted in part by RAW INK Online.

Invited by columnist, Erin Keane, Mr. Hankins comments on Kelly Creagh’s new novel, set in Louisville, KY, Nevermore.
RAW INK: Incorporating Play
Book trailers allow students to really stretch out
their creative/remix abilities.
Mitch Donahue created a game based on the first two chapters of James Patterson’s Maximum Ride using Little Big Planet. He was able to demo his game at Indiana University Southeast.
Jon, a Room 210 student created a book trailer for his short story, “Gods Among Men.”

RAW INK Online students read/interact with blogs from
authors and other students.
Our regular chats with authors is a popular feature. This year’s chats have been with: Chris Crutcher, Kimberly Willis Holt, and Vordak the Incomprehensible (Scott Seegert).
Skype chats this year include: Riley Carney and Tom Angleberger.
Tyler and Jin (RAW INK Managers) were part of EdTechTalk in February.
