Under the scintillating glare of a full moon, the genius of Vivere weaves his spell over the world of music. Alexander Pluto is taking his lavish brand of psych-noir to the UK and beyond. Your Washing Machine', is already being talked of as the most exciting elegant energizing début albums of the past decade. When Riff scheduled the first exclusive interview with Alexander Pluto, the man behind Vivere, the head office did not know what to do – what do we ask this magician who has the whole world under his spell? After a series of cancellations, however we have, as done any publication, an interview with modern star man.

So how has this man, singly took over your play-lists in just a few weeks? Months, almost a year before he released his self-titled début album, he had already sparked a colossal interest, through social networking. His twitter account, @Vivere seems to gain 100 followers a week, most likely to catch on his rare eccentric intimate gigs. You could never pre-book a Vivere gig, it would be announced on the date of the event and details will be released throughout that day. Not direct clear details, he would have left clues of the major city/town he would be playing at, and the dedicated fans would always find their way there.

He has gained great fame through word-of-mouth and who people have compared him with. Spotify's similar artists list: David Bowie, Cat Stevens, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart and The Pixies. Last.FM's related acts: Duran Duran, Queen, The Kinks, Sonic Youth, EELS, The Velvet Underground & Nico, The Cure, The Ramones and Neil Young. Just this level of comparison is enough to launch any new artist into a world of fame. However this has created great pressure for the artist and high expectations, which he has met – when it comes to reviews.

We at Riff were especially intrigued at his customized guitar; we reckon that it could be the most valuable contemporary instrument in the world! This unnamed breakthrough in the world of guitars was built by Mike Robinson (Eastwood guitars), Lester William Polsfuss (this was believed to be the last guitar the Les Paul creator ever made), Jimmy Page (of Led Zeppelin), Matt Bellamy (of Muse) and of course; himself. Bellamy and Page also feature on three tracks of 14 from the album.

When people look back at musical history, they'll say “Sgt. Pepper”, “Dark Side of the Moon”, “A Night at the Opera”, “Thriller”, “Nevermind”, “OK Computer” and then “Vivere”.
